My self-summary
If I had to sum myself up, I’d say I love to smile, laugh and joke around. I also try to be curious about a lot of different areas. So I love things like architecture (I’m a huge fan of anything by Eero Saarinen) and design, and like learning about art as well. And even though I don’t have time to read it much these days, I’m pretty interested in philosophy of mind, of politics, and theology. And like any guy, I also love the power-tool section of Sears. Yes, I don’t really quite know why I need a 130 horsepower, nuclear-powered bench-sander, but I *know* that if I get one I’ll figure something out. :)

One of my greatest loves is creating wonderful things that I can put out into the world. This is why I went to grad school--to study people and technology so I could figure out how to make things that would really help people have more fun, or be more productive, or even to do things they couldn’t have done before. So I studied at the intersection of psychology, sociology, design, computing, graphics, etc.

My number one love, though, is God! I’m in total awe over his love, generosity, care, and mercy! So I try to be a follower of Jesus, and my beliefs are basically typical protestant, maybe leaning a little towards Calvinist at times.

I like traveling, and have had the chance to see some amazing places, like Russia and France. I got the chance to spend a summer in the UK a couple years ago, which was wonderful. The greatest place I’ve ever seen though was Ireland--the western coast was so surreal.

These days I'm dividing my time between Georgia and NY--which is where I spent the first couple decades of my life before moving South for grad school. I’m still very much a New Yorker at heart; I carry a somewhat subtle Brooklyn accent, and do occasionally talk a bit quickly. :) I'm planning to move to NY permanently in the next few months.
What I’m doing with my life
Running a little company.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like reading about design, philosophy, political theory, Christian apologetics, blah, blah, blah. :) I really liked Reason for the Hope Within, a bunch of essays arguing for the reality of God from different angles.
I used to love TV but don't have time to watch much anymore. I'm picky when it comes to movies, but I generally like action/adventure, farcical comedy (Spaceballs!!), and the occasional sci-fi.
As for food, I like the seriously ethnic stuff--authentic Chinese food, serious Polish Borscht, etc.
The six things I could never do without
It's so easy to say "God" for #1, almost as a reflex! But the truth is I really couldn't do without him. I lived the first 13 years or so of my life without God. I survived, but I'd never want to go back to that. :)

#2 family
#3 friends
#4 pizza
#5 beauty
you'll have to guess #6...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about things like what strange new dishes I could come up with using just what's in my refrigerator(!)...I also like to think about the process or creativity, how to design great experiences, why God created the world the way he did, technology marketing, and random philosophy stuff ('cause 3000 years of thought couldn't solve these problems, but I know I will :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Having dinner and talking about something cool with some friends.
