I'm twenty and I spend a lot of time reading murder mysteries, drinking coffee, and trying to improve my skills at whistling. I can't really whistle at all.

I believe that a little consideration and attempts at empathy--imagining a situation from someone else's perspective, drawing relations but not perfectly identical comparisons between situations and people--would help us all be a little kinder.

Taking a year off (from January to January) from college to improve my mental health and gild my resume with minimum wage jobs waiting tables and serving coffee. That is what I am doing now.
