My self-summary
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~ Mark Twain

Hi there. Meow, lets see...who am I. Well, I'm kinda awesome. I'm California born and world traveled, with time spent living in Oregon, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, England, Spain, and France up to this point (still a lot of traveling I'd love to do). I'm a veteran, a son, a brother, and an oh-so proud uncle. I'm in turns playful, snarky, quiet & thoughtful at times, verbose & joking at others, possessed of a bit of a nerd streak as well as an artistic streak, inquisitive and definitely an atheist (go science!), dedicated, GGG and open minded, oh, and an unrepentant blanket thief; all just parts of the greater whole, I suppose. My life been one full of odd and interesting adventures! I don't think a written self-summary can ever give a full picture of someone, but hey, at least that means there's more to learn and discover about a person, n'est-ce pas?

We're all stories in the end.
What I’m doing with my life
Questing for knowledge (back in the higher education world; yay school!) and adventure (always trying to plan or think up some trip).

Living in the Outers and loving it! The hipsters can have the heart of the city, 'cause FTN, out here we've got the soul (and a whole lot of fog...like, all of the fog).
I’m really good at
Now, now; spoilers. :p If you can tell me where I'm quoting that from, I'll buy you a cookie. Thus far, I'm only out three cookies!
The first things people usually notice about me
Apparently, that would be my eyes. Or that I look like the brother or friend of a friend they knew back when.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books/authors: I'm a bibliophile, so I like me my books; Biographies of any and all sorts, American Gods (most anything by Neil Gaiman, actually), Anais Nin, Fight Club, Choke, Questionable Content, The Elegant Universe, Belle De Joure (the blogger), Sarah Vowell, Richard Moore (good artist/writer), Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Reay Tannahill, A Gentle Madness, Carl Sagan (Billions & Billions), Michio Kaku, and many, many more...

Movies - lots, but here are just a few: The Legend of 1900, Kooky, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Evil Dead Trilogy, Seven Samurai, MirrorMask, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, Fight Club, Shortbus, Moulin Rouge, Amelie, Clerks, Lord of the Rings, (500) Days of Summer, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ted...

Music, well I'll give most anything a listen to; I'm an equal opportunity music lover: Louis Armstong, The Doors, The Dreseden Dolls, Butch Walker, Pink Martini, Tom Waits, 3 Leg Torso, Three Dog Night, Nickel Creek, Dean Martin, The Who, They Might Be Giants, Jonathan Coulton, Of Men & Monsters, Bowie, Skylar Grey, Gordan Haskell, Young the Giant, Symphony of Science, Mumford & Sons, Half Moon Run, The Head & The Heart, Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine, Nico Vega, Portugal. The Man aaaand quite a few others besides.

Food: If it tastes good, I'm good with it! So, yeah, I guess I'm a bit of a foodie.

TV (well, TV via hulu and netflix): Bob's Burgers, Workaholics, Girls, The I.T. Crowd, Archer, Doctor Who, MST3K (the originals with Joel) Do shows on youtube on astrophysics count?

Podcast: Marketplace, Freakanomics, Savage Love, RadioLab, This American Life
The six things I could never do without
There are things I would prefer not to do without, but really, nothing I couldn't do without.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Pastafarianism. Russell's teapot (wiki it). Cephalopods?

Callipygian women.

Planning for the OSL weekend this year (yay for Macca!). Actually, you know, music festivals/concerts in general.

Traveling the world when my means end up matching my ambitious dreams

Astrophysics: the universe and everything in it. Actually, I tend to get quite the nerdgasm over various disciplines of science. I geeked out a bit when Curiosity landed on Mars.
On a typical Friday night I am
Lounging in relaxing with a glass of wine or beer and netflix, out performing in a show, enjoying a concert (seems to be a lot of this, as of late), a night on the town, maybe karaoke or a board game with friends. Late night, meandering, aimless strolls along Ocean Beach or through Golden Gate Park...though I suppose any of those could be said of any night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I cried at The Land Before Time in the theater when Littlefoot's mother died...what? It was sad!
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–35
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
If you'd like to partake in some of the wonderful, off-beat, awesome and odd adventures this wonderful city has to offer.

If you get a kick out of something like Einstein vs. Hawking (http://youtu.be/zn7-fVtT16k) or Gates vs. Jobs (http://youtu.be/njos57IJf-0)

If you know where one might acquire a penguin.

You, like I, want to add to your Monkeysphere (google it).

Or, you know, if you have a TARDIS and want to go zipping around on adventures. Because seriously, a TARDIS?!? "Let's go on an adventure. We might have to run a lot, fight monsters and solve mysteries, but we'll be together and it'll be much more interesting than staying home."
