My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~ Mark Twain

Hi there. Meow, lets see...a self-summary, eh? Well, I'm kinda awesome, as folks tend to be. I've been calling the Bay Area home for eight years now, and am still relishing it. Its a great area to be passionate about live music, good food, and escapading in.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Enjoying the back to college experience, roaming the city, and taking in as much good live music as I can.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Now, now; spoilers.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Apparently, that would be my eyes. Or that I look like the friend of a friend they knew back when.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books/authors: I'm a bibliophile, so I like me my books; be they biographies of any and all sorts, American Gods (most anything by Neil Gaiman, actually), graphic novels, Fight Club, Questionable Content, The Elegant Universe, Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman!, Sarah Vowell, Richard Moore, Alan Moore, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Reay Tannahill, A Gentle Madness, Carl Sagan (Billions & Billions), Michio Kaku, and many, many more...

Movies - a wide variety, but for a sampling: The Legend of 1900, Kooky, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Evil Dead Trilogy, Seven Samurai, MirrorMask, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, Shortbus, An Adventure in Space and Time, Amelie, Clerks, Lord of the Rings, (500) Days of Summer, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ted...

Music, well I'll give most anything a listen to; I'm an equal opportunity music lover: Louis Armstong, The Doors, Paul McCartney, The Beatles, Butch Walker, Pink Martini, Tom Waits, Emilie Autumn, 3 Leg Torso, Three Dog Night, ERBH, Dean Martin, The Who, They Might Be Giants, Jonathan Coulton, Of Men & Monsters, Bowie, Symphony of Science, Mumford & Sons, Half Moon Run, The Head & The Heart, Outkast, Macklemore & Lewis, Jagwar Ma, The Go Find, Portugal. The Man aaaand quite a few others besides. Usually try to add more via the normal Bay Area trio of fests (Outside Lands, Hardly Strictly, Treasure Island)

Food: If it tastes good, I'm good with it! So, yeah, I guess I'm a bit of a foodie.

TV (well, TV via netflix, hulu & youtube): Bob's Burgers, Workaholics, Girls, The I.T. Crowd, Archer, Doctor Who, MST3K (the originals with Joel), Broadchurch. Sciencey shows, The Young Turks (you want a real news show, give them a try).

Podcast: Marketplace, Freakanomics, Savage Love, RadioLab, This American Life
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
With the obvious exception of those things you need to maintain biological functions, I can't really think of anything I could "never" do without...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Pastafarianism. Russell's teapot. Cephalopods? Oh yeeeeaaaah, cephalopods. Callipygian women.

The universe and everything in it. Actually, I tend to get quite the nerdgasm over space. I geeked out a bit (well, maybe more than a bit) when Curiosity landed on Mars.

If you want to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the Universe.

Wondering what I'm still doing in a country where corporations are now apperantly 'religious people', and if the science degree I'm working towards will make me more attractive for long-term entry into other countries and/or overseas employers...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I cried at The Land Before Time in the theater when Littlefoot's mother died...what? It was sad.
