My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I have my laptop set to the lowest brightness setting and I'm relaxing on my outdoor sectional under the roof of my screened in porch. A thunderstorm is brewing in the distance over the mountains of Westerns Pennsylvania and I can just hear my 10:00 train blowing it's whistle three miles away. Speaking of whistle, my tea is ready.

I'm sitting far from the hustle and bustle of the city, which is fun to visit but not to stay. It's not much, but it's mine. I built the porch, chose the color, arranged the art and kept it clean. I consider my chair the King's spot; that is, the place from which I survey my Kingdom, to use hyperbole.

I changed my career 2 months ago. I left the glamorous world of psychology and academic offices to "donate to the stock of tangible things." I work now as a carpenter. Making things more beautiful, complete and functional. Some websites I just scanned over implied that men need to build and improve in order to be happier which can percolate down to them becoming better people. Thats true for me to be sure.

I could do with someone who would see the value in what I'm doing. Maybe go get a glass of the wine I opened last night while cooking dinner. Someone to fill one of the empty chairs laid out in front of me. Let's have a good conversation about our wayward friends or share a mutual concern about the wine going bad if we don't finish it.

I won't be dishonest and I will share my feelings. I take pride in the way I treat others. Pride is good, I have a great deal of it. I'm proud to remodel my home, take care of my cat, be best friends with my brother, take care of my mother and count her as a close friend, work for my money and spend it to make others happy.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Relaxing, gardening, developing a career that keeps me healthy and funds my projects. I love it when a plan comes together.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Carpentry, DIY, painting, model building, counseling, teaching, crossword puzzles, listening, video games, cooking, design and colors, picking wines and cheeses.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My energy, I think and speak very quickly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Midnight in Paris, Avatar, The Avengers. The Grey, Star Trek, Dr. Who, The Walking Dead, HGTV, Holmes on Homes, NCIS.

Soups, Stews, Pickled Beats, Olives.

I listen to Elton John, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkle, Hall and Oates, and Classical music. New stuff is good too but I can't really name what it is or who writes it, I just listen to it when it comes up.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My workshop
My computer
My car
My Mother
My Brother
Silence
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My next new project for the moment.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going out with a few friends to a bar that serves good craft beer, or good reasonably priced wine, or hanging around in my workshop building something.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Although I am very personable and I love to hold on a conversation with anyone people tend to get a poor impression of me at first, but I will always grow on them.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I don't particularly like communicating through writing. Meeting in person is much more fun, easier and richer in information. With that said, this is online so I understand if you want to talk for a while to make sure I'm normal.

You don't mind that I'm quirky
You don't particularly like dates in loud places.
