I am independent, smart, laid-back, loyal, hard-working, responsible, generally upbeat although reserved and even-tempered.
I appreciate humor, but rather than a joke you are more likely to hear a spontaneous come-back or random observation from me. Jokes are funny if someone else tells them, but I generally laugh and then forget the joke 10 minutes later.
I am generally liberal-minded. I have paid taxes every year since starting to work full-time, and have been lucky enough not to need any public assistance. I believe in keeping my financial commitments, and have done so even when it was not convenient or easy.
I believe in a moral structure and I believe people can choose to act and think morally without outside intervention. I don't believe that God would punish a moral person just because they had no access to a particular book or set of teachings.
I was married/in an LTR for over 10 years and I liked being married; however unless I am sure about compatibility, long-term goals and pretty much head-over heels, I won't do it again. I don't think this attitude is commitment-phobic.
I don't date multiple people at once.
I work out regularly and try to make it a priority. I didn't just list it because I thought it would attract you.
I eat a low-carb, low-starch, low-sugar diet because I think it is healthier than the standard American diet.
I am 95% more likely to be listening to music, watching Bloomberg news, or a Netflix/Redbox movie on my TV than watching anything else. I generally despise "reality" TV.
I don't have family in the area, and I don't have children. That doesn't mean I don't value family.
Whatever I listed in "Favorite activities" is not an all-inclusive list of things that I would be open-minded about doing or at least trying with the right person if they were interested in the activity. I think that is part of the fun of meeting someone and getting to know them. Disclaimer: if that activity involves jumping off a bridge or out of an airplane, climbing a sheer cliff or riding a motorcycle through traffic at extreme speeds, I'll likely just cheer you on from the solid ground.
About you:
You are interested in health and fitness, and you are probably self-motivated to do some kind of regular physical activity.
You are emotionally grounded and financially stable. You are also independent, with a variety of interests.
Whatever your political affiliation, you are willing to acknowledge that no one person or group has been the cause of whatever laundry list of problems our country/society might currently face.
Whatever your religous affiliation, you are open-minded and accept others for who they are.
You are generally happy and feel that life holds the possibility for wonderful possibilities.
You know you aren't perfect, you accept yourself anyway, yet in your own way you strive for growth and improvement.
