I'm a transplanted New Englander who has been living in the D.C. area for 15 years - I'm not quite sure how that happened!

I make a mean roasted chicken and apple pie and can find the humor in just about every situation. My tastes are pretty wide-ranging... Come to think of it, my list of likes is much longer than my list of dislikes. Naps, travel, movies, playing hooky...the list goes on and on... I wish I could say that I run for pleasure, but it is mostly to balance my love of food and wine.

Looking to meet someone smart and engaging who is more CNN than Fox News, has a good sense of humor and willing to try new things on a regular basis. You don't pose for photos in front of a car or without your shirt on. You believe that chivalry is not only not dead, but has a place in modern society. Random trivia, holding my own in a debate, picking a good bottle of wine, naming that tune but singing it off-key, spelling, driving stick shift, getting lost when I really should know where I am going, forgetting to return Netflix movies, getting people to talk about themselves and making them feel comfortable...

My eyes as I'll actually make eye contact and smile at strangers on the street! Kind of freaks out some people.

Shadow of the Wind and A Prayer for Owen Meany; Smithsonian Magazine and cnn.com; Dexter, Homeland, CBS Sunday Morning and 60 Minutes. Law and Order marathons. Yes, I've seen every one of them, but can't stop myself. Mumford & Sons, Steely Dan and Hot 99.5. A good steak with a great wine, oysters on the half-shell, and a glass of sparkling - it isn't just for toasts!
