My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If you like funny and interesting, I'm your guy. If we met in a coffee shop, you'd like me; I'm affable, I'll make you laugh and I make interesting conversation.
If you're looking for someone rich, or the guy in a band, or Mr. Ambitious politician guy, you should skip me pretty quick.

I have a rich and full life( minus the obvious). My social calendar can get pretty loaded. I have many friends and alternate between hanging with them and then going home and reading or watching movies.
I love to talk politics, history, spirituality and culture or whatever funny or zany topic that comes to mind. This is where being a teacher rules, because there are always funny and zany things going on in the classroom.
As to other topics, I'm pretty curious and I'm pleased that their are many things I don't know about.
As to dating, I can be old school in some things. I like to open doors and pay for dinner, but I'm not offended if you don't roll that way. I'm no prude, but I'm not in any hurry to get to the bedroom.

Meeting someone is about getting information.
Sooo, if I am interested, I'd like to meet up for a quick, 1 hour or less, "does she seem like someone I'd like to go out with" encounter. It's just easier to find out if I'm interested if we meet in person.
After that, I'll take a few days and assess... and if I'm curious for more info- it's date time.
The only way I can assess if we have chemistry sexually is if we kiss. Bad news is that I'm not down with kissing strangers, so it'll be a date or so before I give it whirl.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've got the summer off and am having a blast. Books, sun, water, movies, day trips, hanging with lots of friends and getting a little prep work done for school. My current hobbies are Softball and Bikram Yoga (which is having a wonderful impact on all areas of my life).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh, talking and listening, reading, teaching, softball, kissing. I love Bikrim Yoga, but I wouldn't say that I am all that good at it yet.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm funny and polite. Polite in a , "how can I make you comfortable way". Kind of like a couch. I'm basically a funny couch.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books- 1491 and Last Days of the Incas right now (i'm really into Peru at the moment);
I love a well written history book; Empire of the Summer Moon is my current favorite.
Movies- I've lost count of the number of movies I've seen. Anything with Paul Newman, Humphrey Bogart. I watch movies frequently so I have broad tastes; I watch documentaries often.
Shows- I'm eclectic, classical, punk, bluegrass, gypsy- I'll try anything, but right now nothing is getting me very excited.
Food- Anything chocolate. Thai is wonderful, most asian cuisines and I get along well; except when they are too spicy, then I sweat and my leg shakes. Enchiladas. I always like old fashioned southern foods. I've been missing Italian and French lately.

Movies, Music, Art, Eating and books fall into two categories; entertaining or cathartic- i like the former, love the latter.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Chocolate
2. Cotton
3. Music
4. Water
5. The orangutang and the platypus; if only they could rule the world
6. Bikram Yoga
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My job.
How I can get fit without actually moving.
What's something interesting that I haven't learned about or seen or heard.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out and having dinner with friends until 8 or so; or playing softball.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I would wear a sombrero and dress like a mariachi (in black, of course) if I could get away with it.
