Highly logical, reasonable, and curious, I am a geek at heart, believing in the power of technology to help mankind solve its problems. I believe in the redeeming qualities of people and the need to balance the natural with the technological. I have little use for ideology or absolutes in my life, with a few exceptions.

That said I think about and enjoy talking about many things including, but not limited to: public policy, current affairs, politics, food and drink, a little art, science, and even occasionally the latest celebrity exploits. (I actually find TMZ quite entertaining.) I also believe change begins with personal responsibility.

I also have a creative side expressed in my second career as a wedding photographer. I find immense satisfaction out of capturing images from the real world, putting on a different set of eyes than other people so I can capture the moment and present it to them in turn, telling them to slow down.....enjoy the moment....notice the beautiful things all around you. Sometimes romantic, sometimes surprising and candid, I hope that there's a little revelatory truth in them. But...I like candids the best because I think they are as close to unvarnished as you can get without having a lot of time to get to know them. Professionally, I'm a disenchanted computer engineer who works in IT 9-5 (such a misnomer these days) and moonlights as a wedding photographer. I love leveraging my geek side to feed my creative side.

I'm told quite often that I'm good at taking photos. I'm both proud of and humbled by my talent. I taught myself almost everything I know about it, so every time I bring my camera along, it's out of passion for the craft. Don't be surprised if I catch you at a funny, fun-filled moment.

TV (because it's not listed): Dexter, True Blood, Burn Notice, Mythbusters, Meet the Press, The Tudors. I'll at least sample anything Sci-fi on TV.
