My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a goofy, nerdy, music and history obsessed, recent college grad. I love being outdoors, camping, bonfires, walks in the woods, and I love being near (or in) the ocean.

I like to get creative and crafty when the notion strikes me. I do enjoy nights out with friends, but also low key nights in with good company. I'm always up for deep, enlightening conversations and/or stupid and hilarious conversation!

I'm pretty laid-back and am generally respectful of other people's opinions as long as they don't try to impose their beliefs on me. However, I always stand up for what I believe in. I'm easy to get along with and I am very straight forward and open.

I just moved back to Florida from Ireland, where I've lived the last few years, so I don't know many people around here anymore. I'm primarily looking for people to go exploring with, drinking buddies, and people to chat/hang out with, but you never know... I'm open to other possibilities.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a degree in history and will be starting grad school in the fall. I had to take a hiatus from college, but I'm glad to be involved in academia again. I'm most interested in the history of common people. I particularly like to study/read about social history, progressive movements, equality, revolutions, suffrage, the great depression, Vikings, and Irish history. I'm strangely fascinated, yet repulsed by certain aspects of southern history. I'm also into sociology, anthropology, politics, feminism, permaculture, and homesteading.

It looks as if I am moving back to Pensacola soon to pursue grad school and a history-related career. Although, sometimes I think I would get a lot more satisfaction from a job that directly helps people. After I finish school, I will explore my options again! I'm considering teaching English in Central America or possibly moving back to Ireland. Also thinking about different places in the States. Maybe I'll stay here. Who knows! I'm open to all possibilities!

I also play roller derby...so obviously, I'm a badass. (Just kidding) (no, I'm not):)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
The music name-game. Ever since I was a toddler, my dad would ask me "Who's this?" at the beginning of every song... So after 25 years of practice, I can identify most "classic rock" songs within the first couple of bars.

And giving (sometimes unwanted) historical tours of wherever I happen to be.

I also make a mean tiramisu!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm genuine and honest to a fault, yet light-hearted, witty and also quite silly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I mostly read literary classics, historical fiction and non, DIY books, self sufficiency and gardening guides. I really love Oscar Wilde. I just read The Moneyless Man by Mark Boyle. That guy is a legend!

I enjoy independent films, mind-numbing quotable comedies, documentaries, historical period dramas, and insightful movies. I have a bad memory for films, but a consistent favorite is "O' Brother Where Art Thou".

I don't watch television very often, but I am partial to a bit of Father Ted, documentaries, River Cottage, Game of Thrones, Girls, Downtown Abbey, True Blood, It's Always Sunny, The Office... I've been living abroad for a while, so I don't even know what's on American TV.

I love music and have an eclectic, infinitely growing list of favorites... Random sample: Led Zeppelin, The Pixies, Deerhunter, Deftones, A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Tori Amos, Grizzly Bear, Fleet Foxes, The Smiths, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, Grimes, Radiohead, The Kinks, Iron and Wine, Nick Drake, CSNY, Neil Young, The Four Tops, Laura Marling, Lisa Hannigan, Katie Kim, PJ Harvey, Nickel Creek, Leadbelly, Skip James, Shovels and Rope, Clint Mansell, just to name a few (there really is sooo much more) ...

I'm a bit of a foodie. I love cooking and baking. I make an effort to use natural and locally sourced ingredients, when I can. I love Mexican food. I think that is what I missed the most about America while I was gone: food from Mexico. (Which is realize is contradictory to my last statement about local food :P)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
feta cheese, whiskey, roller derby, Barry's tea, hot sauce, dirt, and music. That's seven. Why limit yourself, sure?!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What I'm doing with my life, social policy, history, music, food, people, and plotting new adventures.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Tunes, friends, and a few drinks perhaps.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My socks never match. I also love the smell of an open fire. That's not very private, but I can smell one right now and it is ever so lovely!
