I am a somewhat native of the area - originally a stones throw away from Washington DC on the "scary" green line. I've been in "DC proper" for a couple years and came here to work(interpret), sign(language), and eat(everything). I'm currently doing 2 of those things but 2 out of 3 is close enough.

A few things about me, I am an avid yelper (currently Duke of H st), Ramen Connoisseur, ridiculous, serious, probably the best listener you'd ever meet, film buff, DC road biker, fan of all things food related ( nutritionally , how was this prepared, where it comes from culturally? why does this fried rice taste so much better than mine?).

I started off in DC freelance interpreting for American Sign Language doing every and any job from kite classes in Aberdeen to parole meetings in Annacostia. Those jobs were always the most fun. Currently, I manage interpreters and Deaf services across the DMV.

When I clock out I am trying to be an active participant in DC whether it is supporting our local businesses, non profits, taking random cooking classes or any fun class, attending free or cheap events, planning my next vacation - Hostels, PBR, foreign travelers, and no sense of time go oh so well together.

- Converting people to eat more vegan and raw food even though I don't myself.
- Traveling and getting lost in new places
- Yelping and maintaining my Duke status - Although someone took Black Supermarket from me.
- Being able to have a really cheap tab (I am half Asian - it comes with the territory)
- Dishing out sarcasm

It could be several things - Apparently that I am either Mexican, Filipino, Hawaiin, Puerto Rican. - Note that I am none of these thing

Right now my favorite book is "Eating Animals" and "An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese"

Film is a huge passion of mine - Lost in Translation, Blade Runner, The Road, Jiro Dreams of Sushi, Letters to Iwo Jima, Shame, Old Boy, Predator, any Danny Boyle, Christopher Nolan and Stanley Kubrik film oh any documentary about social issues. I know that these are sort of conventional but it's my favorite at the moment, not necessarily the best.

Shows: Breaking Bad, House of Cards, The Wire (Greatest show of all time), Kitchen nightmares (BBC version), Extras, Game of Thrones, Summer Heights High, Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire

Food: I love every kind of food but American food generally bores me. I am a Ramen connoisseur, when I was in Japan I ate Ramen literally every single day. Vegan food( Soul Food), real Chinese food, German food, Amsterdam Fallafelshop, raw smoothies, noodles in general. I tend to avoid foods in which the ingredients are unpronounceable.
