I am curious, cheerful, and not a zombie (?).
My Self-Summary
Hmmm... well, right now I'm a grad student about to finish my phd,
so I've been pretty focused on that this past year.
What I’m doing with my life
Going to school, working, trying to write a thesis, applying for
jobs!
I started running again this summer, but I've slacked off again
with fall allergy season.
I’m really good at
Procrastinating online... :)
The first things people usually notice about me
Not sure... lol - maybe my smile? you'll have to tell me...
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Favorite books: Things that are either light and funny (Terry
Pratchett, Tim Dorsey, Julia Quinn), or really well-written
historical non-fiction - I liked Tony Horwitz, the last one that I
read was called "Rape of Europa" about what happened to artwork
during WW2 in Europe. I saw a documentary on PBS about it and
decided to look the book up. It was pretty good, a little dry at
times, but still very interesting material. Other than that, it's
been awhile since I've read something really good that I remember
the author's name.
Favorite Music: I'm kicking myself for not getting tickets to
AC/DC. I admit it, I like rock, especially on an 80s band kick -
Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, but also listening to some
country music, some current rock groups - Nickelback, Seether,
Hinder, Theory of a Deadman, and I like some Scandinavian rock
bands, too (Nightwish, Jorn Lande esp). Pandora is my friend right
now! :)
Fave movies: I love classic 30s 40s and some of the 50s comedies -
especially the screwball variety. :) I can watch them over and over
again. (My Man Godfrey, Cary Grant, Philadelphia Story, etc). I
also like some action/adventure, comedies. :)
The six things I could never do without
1) Books to read to relax with
2) Music
3) Family
4) Friends
5) Phone/Computer (to keep in touch with 3 & 4)
6) Sun!
On a typical Friday night I am
At home, relaxing... maybe watching a movie, catching up with
housework.
