My self-summary
At this point in time, I am not looking for serious partners--I have the distinct blessing that my life is currently more full of love than I know what to do with. But I still like going out and doing things, and I still find people attractive. I have a girlfriend, and if I do have a date I will be letting her know. She'll probably like you, but that doesn't mean you're expected to sleep with her. This is not a Unicorn hunt.

Dorothy Parker, but with less drinking and boy parts.

I consider myself creative, literate, compassionate, and I frequently am reminded that I have no real idea what goes on inside people's heads. I love words, and I take a dim view of people who mistreat them, by misspelling or misusing them. I like to write, when I can muster the creative energy. I read, a lot. I watch movies and occasional television. I listen to a lot of music. I have eclectic tastes, in movies music books or food. This is one of the reasons I'm glad I live in the Bay area--the wide variety that one can find here. The other reason is my amazing collection of friends here. I treasure the people I surround myself with, and love them dearly. And many of them live within a short drive of me. That's the way I like it. My sense of humor is alternately broad and absurdist like a fish-slapping dance or dry and sharp like a cheddar martini. Joke bombs are one of my favorite forms of humor.

I am better than, I've ever been, and emptied of anthems

What I’m doing with my life
Vitamin for Young Lovers is back on the air, just in time for you to share your favorite online radio station with that special someone. (It's cheaper than chocolate, and sexier than flowers. You know you like that.) It's also easier on your back than helping a friend move--buy them a six pack, crank up the volume, and watch those boxes full of books and heavy oak furniture pieces practically move themselves.

Vitamin for Young Lovers can be found on Vitamin Cyrano station at Live365.com, frequency http://www.live365.com/stations/member_10218275325

I’m really good at
I'm a mediator, a negotiator, and I like finding ways to make people happy. I think I'm pretty good at it. People tell me that I make excellent mix discs, which makes me very happy. I make them for me; because my musical tastes are pretty eclectic, I really can't depend on anybody else enjoying them. I like to tell stories, especially when I get help from other people to do it--I'm not bad as an amateur actor, and that lends itself well to role playing games, whether I'm a player or a game master.

Cyrano, so much like my husband is so good at taking this Countess from a hissing cat, to sweet kitten purring in your lap. Having him in my wedding was a dream come true. Sleeping in his bed is like being jettisoned to a brothel in New Orleans. I am hoping someday he will marry me so I can have a husband and a Cyrano, and I can sleep betwixt Cyrano and Discy everynight.

The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know. They're usually fleeing in terror and don't tell me.

When I first saw Cyrano, I thought to myself: This looks like a man who knows how to wear plaid! Then I fled in terror. [WBD]

The first thing people notice about me is that I'm hitting on WBD. I just can't help myself--she's a super-villain with a pheremone based attack, and geology is my weak point.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I hate 'my favorite' questions. Because mine change, depending on my mood and what I've just spent the last week being exposed to. But. Here are a few things that often turn up in 'the favorite' spot.

Books: AA Milne, especially Pooh. These are the books I read when I need to center myself. 'Urban Fantasy'... Fairy tales retold. Modern cities where magic lives. Charles De Lint, CE Murphy, Jim Butcher, Will Shetterly, Emma Bull, Stephen Brust, Ellen Guon, Terri Windling, Neil Gaiman. Your standard Speculative Fiction/Fantasy. This makes up a lot of my library. Kurt Vonnegut, Harlan Ellison, Isaac Asimov, George RR Martin. CS Lewis. Comic books. Hellboy. Strangers in Paradise. The Cowboy Wally Show. 'Old' X-Men. Top Ten. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. 'The Classics'. Yes, I actually read Shakespeare. And Dumas, Bronte, Poe, Yeats... all the stuff your English teacher said was good for you.

Movies: Fantasy. Science Fiction. Epics. Comedies. Tragedies. Documentaries. Arty films about nothing in particular. Love stories. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Mel Brooks. Kurosawa. John Hughes. "Savage" Steve Holland. The Coen Brothers. The Raimi Brothers. Johnny Depp. Audrey Hepburn. Humphrey Bogart. Rowan Atkinson. Parminder Nagra. Ewan MacGregor.

Music: Rock. Blues. Dance. Classical. Baroque. Romantic. Country/Western. Swing. Choral. Showtunes. Erasure. Dar Williams. Frank Sinatra. U2. Negativland. The Cure. Bach. Kander and Ebb. Sarah McLachlan. Tito Puente. Peter Gabriel. The Beatles. Squirrel Nut Zippers. Devo. Moog Cookbook. Queen. Johnny Cash. NIN. Indigo Girls. Mozart. The Smiths. KMFDM. Consolidated. Elvis Costello. The Beastie Boys. The Rolling Stones. Morales. Falco. Warren Zevon. The Pogues. Boiled in Lead.

Foods: Italian. Indian. Afghani. Thai. Japanese. Chinese. Mongolian. Russian. German. Spanish. Mexican. Salvadorean. Ethiopian. Steak. Grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. Pizza. Fresh fruit. Dried fruit. Chocolate. Spices--garlic, onion, black pepper, thyme, oregano, lime juice, pepper sauce....

There. That should give us something to work with.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
I don't usually spend a lot of time thinking about anything in particular. I tend to get easily distracted by the huge list of things on my to-do memo. But when it's late at night and I'm lying in bed waiting to fall asleep, I tend to think about things. I think about all the things that I need to add to my to-do memo, I think about the future, and about all the catastrophic things that could go wrong, I think about story ideas, I think about what I'm going to have for dinner the next day, I think about how I can streamline and make all the crap on my to-do list get done with less effort and less time spent. And at that point, I figure that I'm never getting to sleep. So I get out of bed and check LiveJournal, or read email, or check out online porn or play video games or listen to music or check out what's on the TiVo or something.

On a typical Friday night I am
I am no longer at work on Friday nights! At the moment, I'm likely to be unpacking or going out to dinner or watching television/DVDs. Because that's the crazy kind of life I live--it's how I roll, and if you can't keep up then you'd best jump off.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I should probably turn off the 'woo's because... I mean, really. If it's too much trouble to type 'Hi I saw your profile and I like your shirt/also love tribble fanfic/just want to throw you down on a bed and do nasty things to you'....
