My self-summary
Texas native; I have very strong opinions about what is and what is not Tex-Mex and what can go in chili (I love you, zucchini, but no).

English major --> Democratic political campaigns --> Peace Corps in Malawi --> NY --> Business school in CT --> SF --> eventually, my own planet.

I can yodel and sew and light a campfire like you've never seen. I believe in kindness and justice and that they should go together. Also, sometimes I go to church; I don't care if you do but I know that for some people that's a dealbreaker so I'll just put it up here at the top.
What I’m doing with my life
- Working in international development non-profit
- Making elaborate plans to go camping
- Traveling as much as possible and yet always packing the wrong thing
- Maximizing my bourbon and broccoli consumption (haven't yet figured out how to stuff broccoli into an IV). I like cocktails that could give you salmonella
- Hanging out with my niece and nephew and developing my theory that is definitely 100% true about the Island of Sodor being a Communist haven for sentient trains
- Trying to figure out why my upstairs neighbors are playing bocce at 4 AM. They didn't invite me :(
I’m really good at
Making friends with strange dogs
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm just a rogue cop with a crazy idea and nothing to lose
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
TV: Arrested Development, 30 Rock, The League, Archer, Fringe, Firefly, Twin Peaks, Game of Thrones, Newsradio, It's Always Sunny, Veronica Mars, Happy Endings, Summer Heights High. I grew up without television and it totally backfired.

Books: CS Lewis, Madeleine L'Engle, Dorothy Sayers, David Mitchell, PD James, AS Byatt, Erik Larson, Donna Tartt, Alice Munro, Margaret Atwood, Haruki Murakami, George Eliot, Elizabeth Gaskell, Lorrie Moore, Marilynne Robinson, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, David Sedaris, Douglas Adams, Truman Capote, Flannery O'Connor. Did I say Marilynne Robinson? Marilynne Robinson.

Movies: All of them, especially Clue.
The six things I could never do without
Wikipedia, trees, coffee, cheese, Amazon Prime, jalapenos
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I should eat next; Halloween costumes. Past hits include Gonzo from The Muppets (full blue bodypaint, which maybe sounds sexy like Mystique until you remember what Gonzo looks like) and LOLita (it was a Nabokov LOLcat. Absolutely nobody got it, including me).
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with my dance gang cruising the streets for trouble
You should message me if
You don't take yourself seriously, you love living in the Bay Area, you like rock climbing, you thought you'd try online dating, you love sarcasm, the first thing people notice about you is your eyes (or your height - we get it, you're tall), you couldn't live without "friends, family, food, water, shelter, and my phone", you love to laugh, you like to go out but also to stay in, you're laid-back and you love to travel, you're looking for a "partner in crime", you hate drama, you work hard/play hard, you use the phrase "bonus points".

Actually, message me if you have any additions to this list. I know I'm missing some good ones. (And I also know that I'm a culprit [bourbon, camping] - sorry!)
