Music is a big part of life for me. I grew up when commercial folk music was hot and love the sound. I started playing folk banjo at 14 then picked up the guitar. I had a couple of banjo lessons but quickly figured out I knew more about it than the teacher. So I have spent a lifetime teaching myself both banjo and guitar.

I started college as a music major with a dream of composing serious music. That didn’t really work out. I have kept music with me, however, and it is never far from the surface of my thoughts. I like to write songs but I keep them private.

I have a two-piece acoustic band and we do a wide range of blues, folk and pop music.

I also like to write fiction, mostly erotic fiction. I contrast that to “fuck books” which I find crude and not at all erotic. To me the essence of erotic literature is capturing the emotion of anticipation and discovery. If you’d like to read any let me know and I’d be happy to share some.

I love baseball and am a life-long Cubs fan. I don’t get to Wrigley field very often, though, and the Tribune commercialized the team beyond recognition! However, the Lincoln Salt Dogs provide a great game and wonderful evening. Care to join me for a game?

I follow college football but my life doesn’t depend on the outcome of a game. I’ve followed the Huskers since the early 70s (I lived in Michigan then but like the team, long before I moved here). Memorial Stadium is a great venue. I also follow Notre Dame and Michigan.

Music, listening and being a friend and mentor. Professionally I am good at strategy planning. On a personal level I've been told that I really know how to please a woman.

Most people notice my eyes. They are blue and blue eyes seem to draw people's attention. Then you'll notice that I am fairly quiet, and you'll maybe wonder if I don't like you, or perhaps that I'm thinking I am better than you? Don't worry, I'm sure neither is true. I don't open up very easily but when I do you'll find a very warm and caring person underneath.

MUSIC: My tastes are broad, including classical (love the Brandenburg Concertos), folk music (The Kingston Trio and Weavers), some country (too many to name), modern bluegrass (Wailin' Jennys, Crooked Still, The Greencards). Actually anything but most rap or heavy metal. FOODS: A Ribeye steak and baked potato, OR Deep Fried Chicken and french fries. I should avoid both! MOVIES: The Godfather (like every guy), Centenniel, Apollo 13, The American President, Casablanca, National Treasure, The DiVinci Code and many, many more. I'm a sucker for a good chick flick and love The Notebook, Music & Lyrics, How To Loose A Guy in 10 Days and a string of other similar titles.

How to protect ourselves from a very unknown and unpredictable future. I think a lot about the promise of America, the spirit of the revolution and if we are able to keep both for future generations.

I put all my energy in everything I do, so come Friday evening I am usually wiped out. A simple meal, a couple of beers and a movie are perfect. Or maybe candles and good music with a loving companion. Sometimes we have a gig, which usually starts late and ends early morning.
