What I’m doing with my life
I'm a research student in social sciences, specifically news media studies. I honestly have this conversation about 3 times a week anyway so I cba typing it all out here plus what if someone nicks the idea before I dawdle mine home? Ask me about it if you're interested though.
I’m really good at
recalling 1990s footballers who have slipped into obscurity, like a sort of football-based peter kay. 'craig hignett! you don't remember him do you!'

reading story books without having to use my finger to help keep track. nailed it a few years ago.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
THIS PART IS BORING, WON'T JUDGE YOU IF YOU SKIP IT

I quite like Orwell, Plath and Hemingway just like you, but I don't have much time to read fiction (which is such a great excuse if you're looking for a way out of not knowing anything about literature btw!).

I also won't be able to name many actors and haven't seen most of the films you have, BUT I'd say my favourites are: Lost in Translation, Synecdoche New York, Eternal Sunshine, Mulholland Drive, Somewhere, Before Sunrise/Before Sunset, American History X, Requiem for a Dream, Submarine, Four Lions and Garden State. I get that there's no real order to that list there, but that's off the top of my head. Recommend me stuff that isn't necessarily exactly like those but is almost!

my favourite comedy things are: The Office, Alan Partridge, The Day Today, On The Hour, Brass Eye, Look Around You, Spaced, The Armando Iannucci Shows, The Trip, In The Loop/The Thick of It, Flight of the Conchords, Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, Fist of Fun, Louie, Big Train, 15 Storeys High, Director's Commentary, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Peep Show, Charlie Brooker in general, Time Trumpet, Mitch Hedberg, Arrested Development, Douglas Adams, Cowards/Tim Key, David O'Doherty, etc. if you like those we'll probably get on.

here are my favourite bands and artists who do the music and that: Best Coast, Beach House, The Smashing Pumpkins, Memoryhouse, Mogwai, Bloc Party, Broken Social Scene, Beirut, Zola Jesus, Arcade Fire, Aphex Twin, Band of Horses, Pavement, Tame Impala, Carissa's Wierd, Jackson C. Frank, Bon Iver, Tennis, M83, Braids, Yo La Tengo, The Beach Boys, Blue Roses, Bombay Bicycle Club, Daughter, Do Make Say Think, Holy Other, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Radiohead, Seven Saturdays, Yuck, Los Campesinos!, Weezer, Johnny Foreigner, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, Frightened Rabbit, etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
updating my database of which okcupid members claim to be in or out on Friday nights, ready for some utterly efficient and risk-free burglarizing another time
