My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
---I'm seeing someone now. Good luck with your search---

Accidental professional student, retired risk specialist and occasional yoga teacher seeks literate world traveller with sterling sense of humour. Well that’s the glib version, at least.

Curious, caring, and clever, I've spent a few years in transition. I returned to study part-time to make a career change and more recently migrated to full-time study.

l am fascinated and terrified by American politics but am not personally motivated by influence, money or power over others. l take pride in my work and find it satisfying to do things well but do not want work to dominate my life.

I could just write the same things as everyone else. I like books and going to the movies and hanging out with my friends and blah blah blah.

But while it's nice to have things in common with people, it sometimes seems more important to be who you are, rather than what you do. Do you live a life of integrity? Can you hold a conversation? What's really important to you?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Getting used to full-time study after working too much for the past few years. After finishing most of my Masters I've begun PhD coursework.

Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

Books: I love reading and usually read a lot of sci-fi. Favourite authors at the moment are Neil Gaiman, Peter F. Hamilton and Neil Stephenson (though I prefer his earlier work). I've also been dipping into economics/politics/philosophy hybrids over recent years. I like thought-provoking ideas in my reading, whether it be fiction or non-fiction.

Movies: I tend to go for a rather eclectic mix of movies. Favourites include Donnie Darko, American Beauty, Four Weddings and a Funeral, The City of Lost Children, Amelie, Emma (and Clueless!), Being John Malkovich, Juno...

Although I actually tend to watch more TV on DVD (or the internet) than movies or live TV these days. Some shows I've enjoyed recently are The West Wing, Glee, Dexter, Girls, Community, Dr Who, The Daily Show, Colbert

Music: U2, A Perfect Circle, Muse, bits of Powderfinger, Counting Crows (was amazed how great they are live), Gotye... My favourite band has rarely been heard of in Australia, Toad The Wet Sprocket.

Food: Japanese, Gelati, Chinese, Plain Chips, Carrot Sticks, Chicken Soup, Dark Chocolate. England addicted me to Chicken Tikka (an addiction I've broken recently) while the US just had way too much of everything.
