I am honest, random, and affectionate.

My Self-Summary

A person you may want to know.

I am a geek. If you don't like geeks; shoo, go away. You probably would not like me. That does not mean I just talk and spout some non-sense which only a few can understand or whatnot. That means I have a strong background in computers, that I would rather waste my money on a laptop than say... a better car than the one I currently have (erh, consider priority wise, because there aren't cars that I would buy that would be cheaper than a computer hahaha). Ah - Food is always a good thing to spend money on; Trader Joe's has some really nice 85% dark chocolate.

A foreigner... Yes, I am not American, and I am proud of it. That means we got things to discuss, and views to share. Like travelliing, cooking, delicious food from abroad, wine with character, photography, landmarks I should see on my next trips... I like crepes the most, but I discovered pancakes when I came here (actually I got some in HK once but that doesn't really count). The world is so vast!

A teddy bear, if I had a shirt free hugs, I'd make copies :D, and wear them, and get out to downtown. And if I feel like doing that on the weekend, why not the city. I am affectionate and attention seeking. I will gladly leave someone else their space as long as they can communicate it well though (just frigging say it!)

The name's Damien btw. If you send me a message, I'd be impressed (hint).

What I’m doing with my life

Duh! Living it? Just trying to figure out my own place, folks I can rely on, friends I can spend time with, and a girl whom I can look forward waking up next to... (I mean a girlfriend, not one-night stand).

I’m really good at

- I am awesome at hugging, I give the best hugs in 100mi radius, and if you are not happy with them, we give you the second hug for free! (n__n)
- Being straightforward, honest and telling what I want
- Sadly, sometimes hurting people in the process (sorries!)
- Appreciating things for their worth
- Video games (RPGs, Final Fantasy, anything by Squaresoft / SquareEnix)
- Eating pancakes
- Saying random things, I love that, and because I chose not to be an artist, this is the way for me to express my creativity - do not get this confused with BS!
- Making lists? Re-prioritizing?
- Really, really, really good at complaining if I feel like to - national / cultural heritage

The first things people usually notice about me

He has some beard! Well, it's okay, I play "now you see, now you don't" every other week.

That guy is confusing saying random things, does he even know he is random? Yes, I do realize it; randomness is preferred over BS. Then they notice I am not from here, I am not American, and look mixed. Depending on the surroundings, I will be either quiet & shy around new people, or energetic and lively around people I know. The glass is always full, either of water, of air, or a combo. I appear enthusiastic also.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Hitchhiker's guide... and Discworld series, or if you like some titles: The color of magic, The light of fantastic, Mort, Sourcery, and now I am reading Wyrd sisters... I like the humour and situations that are so out-of-place. Like the hero (or anti-hero) who's such a failure, he evens fails to die!

Movies: any, as long as there is a good picture and a good plot.
Monty Python, Dune, Tarantino's my hero. Kill Bill, Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain (Amelie), Volver (Almodovar is my hero too).

Music: rnb, rock, hiphop, classic, salsa (I used to salsa 3 years ago), bossa nova. Alanis Morissette, ACDC, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Eagles, Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, Staind, Muse, Mylene Farmer, M, Olivia Ruiz, Scorpio, Buena Vista Social Club, Henri Salvador, Carlos Santana, The Corrs, The Cranberries ...

Food:
- crepes, pancakes, waffles, nutella
- sushi,
- French cuisine, Kettle Corn (I hate liquid butter - popcorn's not for me).
- Put cranberries in my Turkey-gravy and I'll poke your eyes out (in a nice & friendly way of course, cranberries belong in cranberry juice and nowhere else)
- Dave's insanity sauce - kids, don't try this at home.
Now in French
J'aime les pains aux raisins et les truffes (chocolat).

The six things I could never do without

- Hugs (yes, even more important than my computer)
- A computer
- Water (I would run out of battery before I get thirsty anyway)
- Food
- A book
- Time

I spend a lot of time thinking about

- what is that other person thinking right now? I am always losing at poker, so obviously I'm very bad at this.
- how to take over the world
- plans for the weekend
- when / where / how can I get a hug

On a typical Friday night I am

Home, relaxing, preparing schemes to take over the world, or at least plans to spend the weekend in a non-boring way. Sometimes I am at a friends, playing videogames. Sometimes I bake cookies with my new housemate.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm shy. I always have problems with icebreakers, starting a conversation, and as a general rule the first contact with someone.
- I have the worst icebreakers (the most plain, or the try-to-cutnpaste-thing-in-common from your profile to put it in the messages)
- sometimes I just smile / wink / visit peoples' profile several times, because I ran out of interesting piece of information to use in a message (help me :p)

You should message me if

In several cases :
- you are interested in me,
- you bake or want to offer me pancakes (yes I LIKE pancakes),
- you think we'd be good friends,
- you need a date, e.g. for a party where you don't know anyone
- you got a good story to tell

You should not message me if:
- you play with other people's feelings
- you are the kind of girl that expects, in a relationship, the guy to figure out everything by himself (meaning your communication really isn't the best)
- you don't like pancakes
