My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
November 7: in Hong King for a few days... Would love some suggestions for cool stuff to do!!

I'm a bit of a talker, but I have a kind of hard time talking about myself, so here goes nothing...

I like to travel; go out for a few drinks; go out to dinner (anything from a hole-in-the-wall down that dark alley to the Michelin 3 star restaurant that takes 3 months to get in); going to Yankee / Knicks / Rangers games; go to concerts (don't go nearly often enough); go to the movies; generally I'm game for anything that sounds like it could be fun.

I think a better way to get to know me than this blurb is to read the little explanations I've put with a bunch of the questions I've answered.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living vacation to vacation
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

But, really, this may be the toughest thing to answer. I'm a pretty smart guy, though if you boiled it down it's entirely possible I'm not quite as smart as I think I am. That said, I'm pretty damn confident in almost everything I do, so it's always appreciated when you look at me and say, "Dan, you're an idiot, you suck at that!", haha
The first things people usually notice about me

I'm a very easy person to talk to, and I tend to make people laugh. Oh, and my blue eyes

Ok, let's try this in order...

Books: I don't really know why, but I read a lot of dense history (Tacitus; Suetonius; Plutarch; Livy). I had to read The Heart of Darkness twice before it made any sense. I should really read more fiction, but my favorite book / books is definitely The Hitchhiker's Guide series. Currently? Just finished Michael Strogoff by Jules Verne, after a sci-fi trilogy and a run through Agatha Christie books (all Poirot).

I'm ALWAYS looking for "what's next"... suggestions?

Movies: For the most part, I'm a fan of comedies new and old (The Hangover, Harold & Kumar go to White Castle, Blazing Saddles, etc.), but I also like the classics (Indiana Jones trio, Manchurian Candidate, for example) and I'm willing to see most anything once.

Shows: TV-wise, it's mostly your HBO shows (my fav of all time was Rome), watching sports, a few of the network comedies (Community & 30 Rock are awesome), and things like that. Despite living in NYC, I don't see nearly enough Broadway shows to have an opinion.

Music: Since I'm getting long winded, let's see if we can shorten this. Jam bands (Grateful Dead etc), rock / classic rock (Pearl Jam etc.), and amazing old school gangsta rap (Doggystyle's outstanding).

Food: I will try anything at least twice... I LOVE to go out to eat and try new restaurants / foods!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
This isn't gonna be easy...

1. Food
2. Sunscreen (sooooo white, haha)
3. Entertainment (doesn't matter if it's good conversation, music, movies, tv, sports, etc., just something...)
4. Annnnddddd.... I'm done, I think
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Well, I don't always spend a lot of time thinking about whatever I'm doing at any given point in time, so there's gotta be something else going on up there, but damned if I could tell you what it was...

Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Doing typical Friday night things, duh
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I hate to admit it, but I like chick flicks... Kate Hudson romantic comedies are cheesy, and formulaic, and still somehow great. Damn.

Oh, and upon some serious reflection and soul-searching, I use ellipses WAY too much.
