Hi, I'm Dan!

I'm queer, and I'm into kink, and I'm not looking for a monogamous relationship right now. Otherwise, though, I'm open to whatever: casual or serious, romantic or not.

I just moved into a co-op in Rogers Park. I'm really excited about this!

I volunteer with a needle exchange van and a crisis counseling hotline. I'm taking some classes and studying for the GRE in hopes of returning to school to get a graduate degree in psychology.

This girl told me once that at first she thought I was just a nerdy hipster boy, and then she decided I was actually smart and interesting.

My favorite writer is Samuel Delany. He originally wrote pulpy science fiction, but then he started writing more literary science fiction that won big awards, and he also writes some great nonfiction about his life as a queer black man. Alternative sexualities and cooperative living show up in most of his work, which makes me really happy.

I also enjoy Orson Scott Card's stuff, but his personal politics are deplorable.

I love autobiographical queer comics like Erika Moen, Joey Sayers, Allison Bechdel, and Ariel Schrag.

Projects I want to do, gender and sex, how medical professionals can be better trained to work with diverse sexualities, the psychology of habit and behavior and productivity and how it can be better harnessed to make more good things happen.

I pay way too much attention to how many likes and followers I get on my Tumblr (polynotes.tumblr.com).
