Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a man of great compassion with a quick wit which I mostly use
judiciously. I have two grown and very talented daughters. I enjoy
helping others and being a friend. I was significantly involved in
volunteer organizations for many years but have cut back a bit on
this recently. But then I just took on a new project of fundraising
for a small, local non-profit.
I had my own computer technology business for 30+ years.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am selling solar electric systems and doing energy consulting. I
very much enjoy this as it matches with my values regarding
conservation of resources and a need to do something about climate
change. This is where I am spending most of my time these
I am also working as an IT consultant and doing computer repair and
support for individuals and businesses. This is a re-invention of
myself in the computer business in which I spent most of my career.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Open and honest communication. Being a friend and helpmate.
Kissing. Information technology.

Anything by Barbara Kingsolver or Isabel Allende. Historical novels
and nonfiction books as well as a wide variety of fiction are also
favorites. I read Philip Gourevitch's book about the Rwanda
genocide and Tom Brokaw's book The Time Of Our Lives. I read the
book by Mary Tillman about her son Pat Tillman who was killed in
Afghanistan by friendly fire. This is a very disturbing book, in
particular the lies that were made to his family about what
happened to him.
I really enjoy foreign and indie films. Avatar and the Harry Potter
books and films were great. Movies that I enjoyed are Hope Springs
(Meryl Streep) and Trouble With The Curve (Clint Eastwood) both of
which provide good human drama. I also liked The Butler, Capt.
Phillips, and Fruitvale Station (A friend of mine was in this
movie). Recently saw Selma (loved it), and Whiplash (good movie but
a bit dark). I love going to the movies.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What a messed up world we live in and what can I do to make it a
better place even in a small way. I am truly concerned for our
grandchildren's generation. If I can sell more solar electric
systems I feel I'm doing my part in helping the economy to become a
greener, more sustainable and healthy model.

Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Nothing typical, it could be a movie or dinner with friends or a
number of other things.

I'll definitely pass on this question until I meet you in person.
Oh yes, and I really like women and think they have had a very bad
deal for a very long time.
