I am A-List, though only because I have a friend on the inside.

I guess I'm funny, nice, smart, respectful, and a lot of other generic adjectives that most people probably put here. I am very thoughtful and even keeled, and never lose my temper. I feel old because I bought a house, but then I remember that I have friends that are married and have kids and stuff then I feel better. (It turns out that buying a house can be cheaper than renting, who knew?)

That last paragraph made me sound pretty boring, but I swear that I'm not. People say I'm pretty funny. I like to go on adventures. And as an engineer I'm always fighting the geek stereotype -- just because I work with computers and robots all day doesn't mean I don't know how to have a good time.

I guess I should say a few words about my beard that comes and goes in the pictures. I'm not 100% sold on it, I mostly grew it out of laziness and just wanted a change. So please send me yeas or nays or suggestions for other options. The beard is negotiable, so if thats the only think stopping you from sending me a message then pretend that I don't have it.

I just moved to Philly from Pittsburgh. I really loved my time there, and haven't found enough good restaurants and pubs here in Philly. While in Pittsburgh I became something of a Steelers fan, though I'm starting to warm up to the Eagles. I grew up in Maryland, near DC, and grew up on the always disappointing Redskins. Also until recently I've had no good baseball options. Overall I'm not really much of a sports fan though.

I'm a grad student at UPenn. Basically I get paid to go to school and play with robots, which I think is a pretty sweet deal. This also lets me go on various field demos, such as the coal mine or desert pictures, where robots are needed. I guess I'm still in kindergarten since I play with toys all day then go on field trips.

I'm not sure if I'm "really good" at these, but these are some things I enjoy

Cooking, Dancing, Photography, Boating (including Sailing, Rowing, etc), Whistling, Storytelling

I have also become something of a beer geek, and I'm pretty good at finding a good beer for anyone, even if you don't think you like beer. (I didn't think I liked beer till I found the right one for me, which started with Troegenator). I have also started to homebrew.

I am also really good at napping.

That I'm tall -- 6'4". Anything above about 6'2" though you start hitting your head on a lot more things, which gets old pretty quickly. But overall its a good thing. There was a question that asked if you would be willing to date someone taller than you. In principle I don't have a problem with that, but in my case I'd be dating some sort of mutant, so I said no.

Books: Not sure what my favorite is, lately I've been reading more non-fiction, right now I'm reading "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!", and I just finished "Dreams of my Father"

Movies: Sneakers, Juno, Adaptation, Googlewhack, The Count of Monte Cristo, Ocean's 11, The Rock, many more

Music: Most good classic rock, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, Steppenwolf, Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, The Doors, The Who and the usual one or two songs from Journey, White Snake, Boston, Rush, Heart, etc. Also like Guns and Roses, Metallica, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, The White Stripes, Audioslave and some odd balls: Wynton & Ellis Marsalis (bonus points if you know why...), Gustav Holst - Mars Bringer of War (same here)

Food: I like just about any type of food (including any ethnicity: Thai, Afghan, Ethiopian, Cuban, etc, etc). I like spicy food (if you couldn't tell from the list) and have been known to make my own hot sauce. Not a big fan of weird veggies (normal ones are fine), but I'm more of a fan of Steak, Bacon, Mashed Potatoes, as well as Chocolate (Swiss Miss and Mint M&Ms in particular).

TV Shows: The Daily Show, Scrubs, West Wing, Firefly, Family Guy, Venture Brothers, Robot Chicken, Sports Night, House, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Mythbusters, 30 Rock, Countdown

Too often though it's drinking a beer (often Hoegaarden) and watching a movie (which is also fun).

I have taken square dancing lessons, like 10 years ago.

Also a class on clowning and magic.
