My self-summary Propose an edit

Self summaries are so rarely true.

We usually write about who we want to be, rather then who we are.

I do know a few things about myself, though:

- I'm Transgender/Genderqueer (I primarily identify as a lesbian who sometimes sleeps with men.)

- I believe in Polyfidelity. This does not preclude the possibility of a monogamous relationship, Poly is about respect, honesty, and a belief (but not always action upon) that it's possible to love more then one person. It is not an open swinging relationship by default.

- I have a real soft spot for dominant/androgynous folk.

- I'm a Geek (Specific concentrations being Warcraft, Sci-fi and Gender Theory - but they change often)

- I read voraciously but sporadically

- I don't fit the gender binary, and I try not to abuse Male Priviledge.

- I'm a Switch, but more of a Bottom

- I've reached a point in life where romance is more important then instant gratification.

- I'm shy

- I'm chubby (If you're not ok with this, you're reading the wrong profile)

I just began seeing a counselor about transitioning to female. Obviously I have a lot of work to do (Loose weight, quit smoking, start hormones, update my wardrobe, figure out what it means to me to be a woman. It's a voyage in progress, but it's gonna take a few years to get there.

The profile says Bi, that's not exactly true. I don't really see gender as all that important, but I find the same attitude very important in my partners, and you're typical straight guy doesn't have it. I'm not interested in your typical machismo jerk, so have a sensitive side.

And yes, I realize the irony of this user name.... Not much I can do at this point, and I don't feel like creating a new account with the literally thousands of questions I've answered. (Although some of them have changed significantly and I'm too lazy to fix them.)

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I've been working at the same company for almost 8 years. I've switched jobs and departments numerous times during that interval. Currently, I'm working for the helpdesk as a project manager, continuous improvement type stuff. It's not the most thrilling job on the face of the planet, but it's stable, and it pays the bills.

Other then that, I tend to bounce from subject to subject and become fascinated with it. Gender Identity has been my recent obsession.

I'm a recently recovering Warcraft Addict. I quit cold turkey after my guild finished the last expansion, So, I'm always looking for new activities and interesting things to do.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Making things simple. It's not only my job, it's my natural inclination.

I also absorb information quickly and tend to reach decisions intuitively.

I'm a big, fairly butch girl, it's probably that.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Books:

I tend to concentrate on authors or topics, more then individual books. Some favorites include Heinlein, Asimov, Herbert, Irvine Welsh, Jordan, Stephen R. Donaldson, Kate Bornstein, Chomsky.

Movies:

I tend to enjoy very visual, not nessecarily logical films. Rocky Horror will always be my all time favorite. Snatch and Pi are two others that stick in the mind. I also have a soft spot for sappy romance flicks, Better then Chocolate comes to mind. ;)

Music:

I tend to listen to Genre's more then individual artists. I like 90's alternative(sentimental reasons mostly), Jazz, Blues, Techno (mostly happy hardcore), Ska. I like music that's playful and tongue in cheek.

Food:

I'm pretty easy. I do eat meat, I don't eat onions or peppers. Other then that, I'm good to go.

Well, right now, it's Friday night, and I'm re-writing my OK Cupid profile. But, that's not really typical.

Occasionally, I do happy hour with the co-workers.

Other then that, probably relaxing from a long week with a good book, or playing around on the computer.
