My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Daniel here. I'm an energetic optimist that cares about treating people well. I spend a lot of time thinking about social justice and human behavior. I enjoy music, comedy, the arts--I'm a man of many interests and talents. You'll just have to find out.

I just graduated from college majoring in Religious Studies and Political Science because I'm fascinated with my world and not because I'm on a religiously motivated political crusade. Working at Starbucks, but I'm just, like, really focusing on my music right now?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working and doing stand-up. I like making music, and I'm getting back into doing standup comedy. I have the unrealistic dream that someday I'll "make it", but I'll probably pursue a teaching certificate once I can afford to do so. I'm also working on a couple other projects, I'll tell you about them if you ask!

I bake bread and other things, and cook sometimes too.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Witty banter, stupid jokes, carrying a tune, going on adventures.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have skin, like most other people.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
TV: The Daily Show, Colbert Report, South Park, Parks and Rec, Bob's Burgers, New Girl, nearly anything with Gordon Ramsey, Spy. I watch too much TV, and it's almost entirely comedy.

Movies: I like heartfelt, dramatic movies, cerebral comedies and documentaries.

Books: I haven't been an driven book reader for most of my life, but I'm trying to correct that by going over classic satire, and some more recent humorous novels, but it's tough. I usually read about current world events, politics, and cutting edge science. Al Jazeera English, Gawker (some of it), and anything that filters through my interesting Facebook friends.

Music: Nearly anything? I like rock, indie, blues, folk, jazz. I usually listen to music with my guitar. It's way more fun that way.

Food: Food. Also, beverages.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Meh, people are resilient, I'd be fine, but I'll play along:

1. comedy
2. guitar (I love sharing with people, but it's for me more than anything)
3. delicious shitty pizza

fuck it, I'm just going to start naming things physically close to me

4. crumpled up envelope
5. Spoon (the band AND the utensil)
6. carpet lint
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The people around me and far away. Humanity is a funny thing, and it's interesting to see how we experience social friction, yet are very similar. (wow, real original, right?)

Mostly I just think about what's funny.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Doing stand-up comedy! Hanging out with friends! Drinking, blazing, finding the good music in town, cooking in and watching a film. Friday night is for fun!

Or if the week was long, fun can be staying in and jamming.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a recent transplant to Seattle, and don't really know anyone yet. I'd love to make friends as well as date!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Just do it. I'll be cool, I swear.

But if you still need an excuse, here are some reasons to message me:

Do it to combat gender norms!

You think I'm cool and want to know me better.

We have a particular common interest and you would like to discuss it.

You think I'm cool, but not dating material (I'm really bad at subtlety, so if this is the case just let me know, I'll still respond, promise!)

You think I'm a handsome devil and want to jump my bones right now (how else will I know?).*

You're funny!

*just to clarify: this is a joke and not an open call for casual sex. I am not funny.
