My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Daniel here. I'm an energetic optimist that cares about treating people well. I spend a lot of time thinking about social justice and human behavior. I enjoy music, comedy, the arts--I'm a man of many interests and talents. You'll just have to find out.

I graduated from college majoring in Religious Studies and Political Science because I'm fascinated with my world and NOT because I'm on a religiously motivated political crusade. Working at Starbucks, but I'm just, like, really focusing on my music right now?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working and spending most of my time making music. I have the unrealistic dream that someday I'll "make it" in one of my artistic hobbies, but I'm cozying up to the idea that I would make a great teacher and should pursue that. I also bake a-plenty. Pies, cookies, lemon bars. I can cook too, but I love learning how to bake.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Witty banter, amazing puns (and other cringe-worthy jokes), carrying a tune, and trying new things. I'm apparently also fairly sassy.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not sure. I think most people discover that I'm really uptight at first, but it's just because "you only get one chance to make a first impression" is a lot of pressure if you want someone to like you.

Did I stray from the question? Oops, uhh.. 'my smile'. People notice my smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
TV: The Daily Show, Colbert Report, South Park, Parks and Rec, Bob's Burgers, New Girl, Masterchef: Junior, Spy. I watch too much TV, and it's almost entirely comedy.

Movies: I like heartfelt, dramatic movies, cerebral comedies and documentaries.

Books: Most of my reading is non-fiction. I grew up reading science books, and still do occasionally, but mostly I just read journals online

Music: Nearly anything? I like rock, indie, blues, folk, jazz. I usually listen to music with my guitar. It's way more fun that way. There are virtually no barriers here (but you have to at least kinda like the music I make)

Food: I eat meat even though I know I shouldn't so much; there I said it. You were bacon me to say it. (SO many puns--I can turn it off, I swear)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Meh, people are resilient, I'd be fine, but I'll play along:

1. comedy
2. music (I practice hours daily; this isn't blather)
3. "I forgot, sorry. ....Oops." <--Rick Perry moments
4. a little mystery in the universe
5. spoons
6. like, gravity, man.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life: where everything's made up and the points don't matter.

Trying to figure out how humans, and life, and religion, and money and society work. I think about music and art that I like. I think about thinking about things. What do you think about?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends! Drinking, blazing, finding the good music in town, cooking in and watching a film. Friday night is for fun!

Or if the week was long, fun can be staying in and jamming.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't really care about sports. I'm glad for all the folks who appreciate the Seahawks winning, but for real it's a ball game.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
But if you still need an excuse, here are some reasons to message me:

1) Just do it. I'll be cool; I swear.

2) Do it to combat gender norms! (And while you're at it you can try to convince me I'm wrong about sports)

3) You already think I'm cool and want to be proven wrong.

4) We have a particular common interest and you would like to discuss it. We can set up a meeting.

5) You think I'm cool, but not dating material (I'm really bad at subtlety, so if this is the case just let me know, I'll still respond, promise!)

6) You think I'm a handsome devil and want to jump my bones right now (how else will I know?).*

7) You're funny (or kind! or musical! or interesting! or something else that is totally 'you'!)

*just to clarify: this is a joke and not an open call for casual sex. I am not funny, apparently, unless you already know me--not a great quality for charming people, really.
