I never liked these in college entrance applications and I sure don't like them now. But ... Decent guy, flawed but interesting. Had my ups and downs, but learned something from all of them. And that's the important thing, right? I'm leaving Pakistan soon for parts unknown. And that's very exciting. For the first time in years, I only have to guide myself by what comes my way. "First star to the left, and straight on 'till morning."

UPDATE: Come mid-April, I'll be alighting in Colombia after three weeks on a cargo ship in the middle of the Pacific. Will I be ready for a drink and some flirting? Oh, yes.

Oh, boy. This is a tough one. I'm working on that, but in the meantime, I'm traveling a lot around Asia. Just seeing what there is to see, who there is to meet and what there is to eat. I love the variety and experiences that come with wandering.

Solving problems, fixing things, landing on my feet, improvising, boiling things down to their essentials. I'm a reductionist!

My intensity? My small love handles? I have no idea. My eyes, perhaps. They're pretty intense. :)

Jazz and most Asian cuisines. Love Chinese, Thai and Indonesian. A good wine, chilled and white, to go with it all. Sounds nice, eh?

blah. The whole point of my new life is to boil things down to their essentials. But let's see... Six things:
1. MacBook Pro
2. Camera
3. iPad for books and videos
4. iPhone for comms and navigation
5. Good, good coffee.
6. Conversation with someone interesting that goes along with the coffee.

I suppose I should also include passion, intelligence and great sex just to keep up appearances on this site.

Where to go next and what to do next. I know I should really be more mindful of the moment, and I'm working on that.
