My self-summary Propose an edit
I was born and raised in San Francisco. I grew up with my
grandparents, mom, dad, sister and brother, all in the same house,
so I know a little bit about getting along with others. I graduated
with a BA in mathematics three years ago, thinking that I was going
to become a high school math teacher...this changed after I
realized that I didn't like math all that much and found elementary
school kids were a lot more fun and rewarding for me to be around
than high schoolers. After job hopping for about four years, I've
found a home at my current job. I love the kids I work with
everyday. They're funny (laugh at everything), curious (always
asking questions) and energetic (I might have to start drinking
coffee to keep up with them).
Even though I've lived in California my entire life, I still have
not even come close to exploring all that the area has to
offer...wine tasting, tons of camping grounds still unvisited,
Garlic Festival, Pismo Beach, northern northern California, etc.
There's even places that I've been before but was too young to
really appreciate and would love to go again...Yosemite, Monetery
and San Diego. So yes, I am also looking for a travel buddy.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I think I've worked over 20 jobs before landing the one I have now,
but I love my job now; it's meaningful, enjoyable and like a home
away from home. As the assistant director of a non-profit after
school kids' club, I get to plan recreational/art/social activities
for kids and actually participate in all the funs and laughs too. I
just wish I had the energy they had to keep up...I really don't
remember being so crazy and energetic when I was a kid. In addition
to working, I also enjoy spending time (getting food, watching sports/movies,
bbqs, camping, traveling, chilling, etc.) with
friends and family, playing sports (basketball and softball) and
reading.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
-being a good friend
-coming up with creative ideas
-connecting with kids
-playing softball, basketball, board games and dominoes (at least
I'd like to think that)
-making funny comments (well, I usually think they're funny)
-finding ways to relax (sitting in a hot tub, camping with friends,
bbqs, hanging with family and doodling/drawing)
-eating (i love bbqs and mexican food...I was in heaven when I was
in Mexico, $0.50 per taco. are you kidding me?)
-managing my money and time (you have to when you work with kids
full time)
-cooking (just make sure I have a reliable cookbook to work
with)
-drawing
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
My smile and laugh...I like laughing a lot. I try to keep life
light and joyful, although I understand that sometimes you just
gotta get serious and take care of business; i.e. when I'm up at
the plate with two outs, bottom of the last inning in my co-ed
softball league.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
1) Good friends and family
2) Ability to learn and opportunity to think for myself
3) A comfortable and peaceful living environment, which includes a
nice bed (gotta have a quiet and serene place to go home to after
hours and hours of having three kids talk to me at a time)
4) A reliable car (having a car gives me so much freedom as to what
I can do)
5) A meaningful job (you work so much of your life...might as well
make it something worthwhile)
6) Sports (I love playing and watching...big warriors, giants and
49ers fan)
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
the future...what to do, where to go, who to talk to. I also think
a lot about why people do what they do...
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
finding a way to relax and recharge my batteries. I usually do this
by spending time with a small group of friends, watching a movie,
working out, watching some sports, reading a book or just going to
bed early to be well rested for the weekend.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I've started watching Grey's Anatomy. The cashier at Hollywood
Video hasn't asked me any questions yet (crossing my fingers).
