My Self-Summary
I am intelligent, well educated, emotionally and financially
stable, and enjoy the company of good, interesting people. I am
easy going, preferring compromise to confrontation. I am warm,
considerate, humorous, good natured, quietly spoken, enjoy children
(usually), and have always put family first. I tend to see the
funny side of things and find the humor in many situations.
What I’m doing with my life
Other than work (I teach college), my main interests are travel,
home and family, good company, good food, browsing bookstores and
anything to do with the water. I have traveled to Europe most
summers for the last twenty years. On shorter trips, there are so
many great places to visit in this region. Travel lifts the spirit,
especially when airports are not involved. I was introduced to
sailing this summer and would like to try more of it.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I usually prefer to read non-fiction books, for example I recently
finished "Lincoln and Chief Justice Taney". I prefer movies that
have some wit and charm to them rather than those where things tend
to explode every few seconds, Lawrence of Arabia or Man for All
Seasons for example. I love Irish music (and Ireland) and older
rock music, but I seem to be the only person on the planet who does
not like jazz. As for food, Indian, Thai, Italian, French are
always good.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
The racism, sexism and dreadful decline in freedom and democracy
here at home. Thankfully the recent election result, and the joyous
way it has been received around the world, gives me renewed hope
for the future.
