Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a truth seeker, a life long learner, a gentle leader, and a
dreamer. I try to be the best student at whatever it is that I am
doing, meaning I like to keep an open mind, maintain passion and
curiosity, and stay humble so I learn from my mistakes. That is
pretty much my approach to life.
I'm a very family-oriented guy raised by a strong Mexican
mother...so I am definitely not intimidated by a strong woman. I'm
innovative, Macgyver-esque if you will, emotionally and
intellectually intuitive, loyal to my friends, and love to push
myself and others to be the best versions of themselves as
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working on an MA in Philosophy while teaching some intro courses.
My ambition is to start my career teaching English and Philosophy
classes in a community college soon. Also building my photography
portfolio so I can start doing more professional gigs.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I like to express myself through writing, and am learning to do so
through photography as well. With that said, my primary love
languages are words of intimacy and physical contact. I love
getting to know someone on a deeper level, but not for the sake of
knowing how someone "ticks." I think that sort of people analyzing
comes from pride and insecurity that I have moved past. Now, I just
like to get to know people on an authentic, non-judgmental level
and connect with them. I think relationships can be strong and
authentic now matter if you are best friends or acquaintances who
just see each other every now and then. To me, it is all about how
open you want to be in that moment you share with that person. Oh,
and I am a big time huger.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Usually, it's my beard. I can count on one hand how many times I
shave it per year. Women either love it or hate it.

Books: The Sound and the Fury, Modern American Poetry,...Also, I
like Christian "self-help" (I resent this term but don't know how
else to phrase it) such as Boundaries by Drs. Cloud and Townsend,
and their other books like How People Grow, 12 "Christian" Beliefs
That Can Drive You Crazy, and Boundaries in Dating. I highly
recommend these books if you are a Christian.
I also enjoy Christian Apologetics and Christian Philosophy. My
favorite authors in this genre are William Lane Craig, JP Moreland,
R. Scott Rae, and Paul Copan. If you have questions about
Christianity, please do not hesitate to ask via OKC message.
Shows: I hardly watch T.V. except to watch college and pro football
(Go Bears! and 49ers!), but my favorite show used to be The
X-Files...Also loved The Wonder Years and Saved by the Bell.
Music: Crystal Castles, David Crowder Band, Matisyahu, The Black
Keys, Page CXVI, Black Star, Common, Dance Gavin Dance, and
I like "Big Picture" movies that let you get lost in worlds with
their own sense of logic: Inception, Batman Returns and Batman:
Dark Knight Rises, Aeon Flux (an underrated movie, although it does
drag a bit through the middle), Inglorious Basterds, and more. I
love discussing movies.
Food: Mexican and Italian
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
iPhone 4S - is there anything that phone can't do?
Camera + Gear
Peach Iced Tea Snapple
The beauty of the 90's
Mexican hot chocolate (although I hear you get the runs if you eat
those Abuelita's chocolate bisquettes raw, so be careful, as
tempting as that may be.)
...also, going to the gym
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Outside of the thorny issues of philosophy and theology I wrestle
with as a graduate student (a snooze-fest which I will spare you
here), I think about how I can improve myself as a person by
removing fear and inhibitions, and how I can be more creative. I
try to notice beauty and creativity around me, from design in
nature, to the way a decaying neighborhood can have its own kind of
beauty. I definitely want to be with someone who can appreciate
beauty and has a creative bent.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with friends hanging out, grabbing some drinks, enjoying
conversations that sway from the deep and intellectual, to the
idiosyncratic and humorous.

I love talking to just about anyone who is sincere and kind, but I
am most drawn to Christian women who are either into art or
psychology, or both.
