My Self-Summary

Born at a very early age, I've grown older ever since.

Christian, programmer, sci-fi geek. Went to IMSA for a year, Bradley University for two. Co-founder of Psi Phi, Bradley's science fiction club.

I enjoy listening to people talk about what's important or interesting to them.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm the webmaster of psiphi.org, and I've contributed bits and pieces to a few Star Trek books (some reference material and a back cover blurb). I work as a programmer (mostly C#, some Java); for fun, I'm a programmer (mostly Perl, some PHP).

I’m really good at

Puzzles of many types: Logic puzzles, jigsaw puzzles (particularly Puzz3D), math puzzles, programming puzzles. Also, math in general (I've recently gotten into topology for fun).

The first things people usually notice about me

The can of Pepsi in my hand. Then perhaps my beard.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Favorite movies: TLOTR trilogy, even-numbered Trek movies (plus First Contact, which is unnumbered).

Favorite foods: Pepperoni pizza and Pepsi.

Music: Weird Al Yankovic, Savage Garden, Darren Hayes

Books: Star Trek books, Stephen King

The six things I could never do without

Carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, potassium, nitrogen, and calcium.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Life, the universe, and everything.

[Old question: If you could trade brains with someone, who would it be?] My duplicate from the parallel universe that has nothing but shrimp, or possibly from the one with no shrimp, though that would be less interesting.

On a typical Friday night I am

Eating pepperoni pizza; watching some or all of "Numb3rs", "Doctor Who", and/or "Stargate SG-1"; chatting on-line with friends; playing Travian.

[Answer from 2004: Eating pepperoni pizza; watching some or all of "Joan of Arcadia", "JAG", "Star Trek: Enterprise", "Whose Line is it Anyway?", and/or "Stargate SG-1"; chatting on-line with friends; playing Destruct-O-Match.]

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My cat's breath smells like cat food.

You should message me if

You want to chat about science fiction (books, TV, comics, movies), or if you get the reference in the "trade brains" bit.
