I believe in living beyond the usual routine. I've found the time to pursue plans and ideas and time to be out in nature. For example, I recently came face to face with a coyote as I paddled along the shore of Drake's Estero in Point Reyes, saw a pair of Bald Eagles on Tomales Bay and bear tracks on a trail near Limatour Beach.

I've spent quite a bit of time traveling in Mexico over the last year, exploring small towns, big cities, coastal and mountain areas. I'm planning to return again next Fall. When it's raining and cool in CA it's dry and not too hot in Mexico. So CA in summer and Mexico in the winter! The sunset picture is from a kayaking trip in the Sea of Cortes. I would love to meet a woman who sees things from the heart... in nature and in life... someone with an energetic mind and a warm heart... someone who feels deeply... who has dreams and passions.

In my life I haven't managed to make much progress in the direction of cynicism. I completely believe in the extraordinary possibilities between two people inclined toward creativity and toward seeing the marvelous in life and toward warmth and compassion and love.

I spend part of the day working on a long term project aimed at creating a different sort of approach to teaching some of the basic ideas in science... more interesting and understandable, more in tune with curiosity and imagination. I also spend time working on construction projects... I'm currently putting a workshop into a space I excavated under my house.
