My name is David. I'm fairly laid-back: I work as a bartender, but
I'm always expanding my recipebook and finding new, exciting things
to try. I love waking up my tastebuds with new flavors and ideas,
and I'm not one to turn my nose up at the new and exciting.
Family is important to me: in spite of our differences and the
mistakes I've made, I have an amazing mom and dad who support me
and help me through it. I have a very loving circle of friends,
thankfully a few of them are too nosy for their own good. It shows
It took me a while to appreciate my mistakes for what they are:
learning experiences. And by learning, I became wiser, smarter,
savvier than I was yesterday.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently bartending, but I would love to open my own bar. I've got
plenty of ideas and initiative, but that's a discussion for another
I’m really good at
Writing. It's a secret passion of mine, and I've been writing and
reading since I was old enough to hold a pen.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm short. Only about 5'3", and that I have a very deep voice.
Which is pretty funny.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh, too many to count.
John Steinbeck, Ranpo Edogawa, Shakespeare, Chaucer, just to name a
few. There are so many I could spend days just listing them
I also enjoy TV, but most of what I want I watch online. I don't
watch that much anyway.
Musicwise, I lean more towards rock/metal and punk. I love Flogging
Molly and all that raucous stuff that keeps me moving ("The Likes
of You Again" is my unofficial "jam".)
The six things I could never do without
1. The basic tenants of human interaction.
3. A martini shaker to shake said gin.
4. A cellular phone.
5. The Internet, with which to research recipes involving
aforementioned martini shaker and gin.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The next exciting drink to try. The dynamics of the perfect
martini, how Sammy Hagar makes awful tequila, how such a simple
drink as gin could have so many uses.
On a typical Friday night I am
Relaxing, if not shaking a martini shaker like a nanny possessed.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm secretly a massive comic book fan. My favorite comic books
include Shingeki no Kyojin, Batman: Under the Red Hood and Deadpool
versus Carnage. I keep up with quite a few of them, and if you want
to know what I'm currently reading, just ask.
