My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Here I am - voice for radio, legs for pedaling and wandering, mind for Jeopardy and the Far Side, hands for piano, heart for creativity, energy, patience, growth and passion.

I'm active outdoors and indoors - hiking, cycling, film, books, classical music, museum exhibits, theater. I try to keep common-sense practicality with creativity and imagination. I have a good balance between life and work. I have a dry and wicked sense of humor.

I'm interested in world events and always thinking about travel. My cooking repertoire is limited but tasty. I'm thoughtful, affectionate and I understand the importance of good communication. Cats love me, and I'm not even allergic to them. I'll ask for directions when I'm lost on the road.

I like someone who has a great sense of humor, is energetic, knows how to balance life and work, has a good sense of herself, is warm and affectionate, and likes the outdoors. I admire creativity and open-mindedness. Bonus points if you're brimming with great ideas to save the world or at least have fun on the weekend.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a freelance IT consultant. I work mainly with non-profits because they're more interesting to me - the work they do in the arts and in society is important to me and it's hard work.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
* Listening.

* Asking good questions.

* Figuring out what non-technical people really need when doing a technology project.

* Planning and being a leader for hikes and bike rides.

* Doing things in moderation.

* Pronouncing words in other languages. (Remember the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull? I do!)

* Solving the old-style NYT acrostic puzzles.

* Whistling, humming, and singing, even while bicycling.

I read a lot of non-fiction -- all sorts of history and some science. Favorites in literature include Tolstoy and Garcia Marquez. “Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, ...” Still the greatest opening ever.

I could talk about cinema for hours and hours. So many good movies. Want to get me started? Go ahead!

YouTube - I tune into lectures about music or history or science. Also great are the thinktanks like the Council on Foreign Relations, Woodrow Wilson Center, etc. who are posting their seminar and speaker events. I’m learning a ton about what’s happening in the world. Good listening while I’m making dinner.

I know a shitload about classical music. People ask if I am a musician. I wish I was. I also love world music, especially Indian / Middle Eastern / Balkan folk music.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Funny stories and big laughs
Blue skies and a smooth road
hummingbirds in the back yard
The outdoors and the critters/plants that live there
Great music / books / films / arts
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
See self-summary above.

Going to a film or a concert, or to a good restaurant with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
