My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Howdy. I'm a together, fun guy looking to connect with men who are happy, honest, sexy, and open emotionally. I'm in good shape physically, mentally, and spiritually, am pretty outgoing, and enjoy life. Happily single and open to all possibilities. If you're comfortable and content with yourself, your life, and your body, let's talk and see where it goes.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Lately, am excited about writing (short fiction, poetry, and a blog) and teaching/learning at the meditation center I go to. I have a 3-day-a-week "regular" job at UCSF and also do massage and copyediting as sidelines. Live with a great roommate and a fat cat in a nice Victorian flat; spend most of my free time doing yoga, eating out, writing, reading, singing along to records, cleaning the house, riding my bike (no car), gardening, being with friends, meditating, or ironing shirts; tvless, love movies.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Love, Scrabble, massage, math, grammar and spelling, 1970s music and geography facts, kissing, kindness, sex with intimate connection, telling the truth, not looking at my phone while we're on a date.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm smiling and I have big ears.

Books: anything well-written, especially contemporary fiction: McCarthy, Murakami, Millhauser, Munro, Ishiguro, Chabon. Now reading and loving All the Light We Cannot See and Season of the Witch. Movies: Independent and quirky, for the most part, too many to list. Last great ones: Rust and Bone, Futuro Beach, Melancholia. (Wanted to love Boyhood--we'll discuss.) TV: almost never. (I hear there are good shows now, just don't spend my time that way.) Music: you name it. '70s soul, '80s indie, newer stuff too...have a lot of records and actually play them. Food: spaghetti & meatballs, grilled cheese & tomato soup, pizza, Junior Mints, pork chops, burritos, chocolate milk.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. intimacy; 2. my comfy bed (try it!); 3. the coast; 4. toothbrush; 5. public library; 6. meditation/peace of mind. Honestly, I don't get very excited about material things (or people who do).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Loved ones. How physical attraction works. Where to travel next. Living a meaningful life. Gay men's wounding and how to heal it. Impermanence.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
glad to be free, maybe having dinner with a friend or a date; or might just stay home and relax, listen to music and eat ice cream, alone or with you.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'll talk about pretty much anything. What do you want to know?

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You actually want to meet; you're happy, loving, and sexy; you like what you've read and like my looks or need to know more before you decide, and you think you'd make a good date, friend, fuck buddy, boyfriend, or something.

A high % match is important, but so are looks and "spark," things okcupid doesn't have an algorithm for.
