I am an optimistic, fun-loving person. I live for today. Tomorrow will always be tomorrow.

Travel, art and music are the engines of my life. Photography has been a passion since my mother gave me a Pentax K-1000 when I was 8. I didn't know an f-stop from the bus stop but eventually figured it out. Now, I have my dream job working with the international editions of a magazine (hint: it has a yellow border) and supervise journalists in 38 countries (Thanks, mom!). I am a science nerd at heart, or mind, so love working on stories on everything from archaeology to oceanography to evolution.

The world and all its variety is a source of constant fascination. I love to travel and to make myself open to each place I visit. On a trip to France, Russia and Turkey, I was amazed by all the sights, sounds and tastes. I know now the proper ways to drink vodka and to buy Turkish rugs. My travel mottos: be kind, relinquish control, embrace serendipity, and never try to out-drink a Russian.

As an artist, I make mosaics by hand from my photos. I developed the technique to push the boundaries of photography and so I could reshape the world into the way my mind sees it. I exhibit my work in the DC area, New York and Paris.

Every culture on Earth makes music, and I am drawn to its many forms. Black Cat and 930 Club are second homes since rock is my main love, but I am always keen on hearing something new.

I am divorced and have a 6-year-old daughter, who is the light of my life and lives with me half the time. Getting fatherhood right is my main mission in life.

My taste in movies trends surreal. I like black humor, strange plot twists, and non-linear narratives: Memento, City of Lost Children, Children of Men, Run Lola Run, Pan's Labyrinth, Inception.

My indie rock crushes: Sabina Sciubba of Brazilian Girls, Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley, Karen O of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Emily Haines of Metric.

I like most international food, especially sushi, Mexican, Thai, sushi, Turkish, and sushi, especially with a cold Sapporo and hot saki.

Bicycles are my favorite inanimate objects. The freedom they provide is addicting. I pedal to work, hit the trails on my mt. bike and roll around town on my cruiser.
