I am nice, dedicated, and easygoing.

My Self-Summary

I was born and raised in SC. In some ways I am a typical southern guy, but in others I'm not. For instance, I have the open doors, pull out chairs for women southern gentleman thing burned into my brain and always will. I was also raised camping and going on canoe trips.

However, my anti southern traits include being anti-hunting. I feel that one should only hunt to eat, and not hunt for sport. Until we run out of grocery stores, or I can't afford to go to one I will not step into the woods with the intent to shoot anything that isn't meaning me harm. I also can't stand Nascar. I really don't see the point of a bunch of guys driving in a big circle. It makes no sense to me. As Jeff Dunham once said, "Look! He's making a left turn. I wonder what’s going to happen next?"

I have a very strong bond with my family and I have dinner with my parents at least twice a week as well as seeing my brother and his family at least once a week. Growing up I use to go on biannual weekend canoe trips with my family, and that is something that I really miss. I have been down just about every river in SC, NC, a few in GA, and a handful in TN.

I’m looking for someone that will be there for me in both the good and bad times like I will be for her. Someone that I feel comfortable being around and talking to about anything and everything. I would like to find someone who shared my love for music even if she didn’t like the same bands I do. She should be able to enjoy a quiet night at home just as much as a night out on the town. My partner should also like pets. Growing up we always had at least one dog in the house, and I have two now that don’t like to leave my side.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm working as a debug technician for a large computer processor company. I am one of the lucky people in that I love my job. I love getting up and going to work to see what new things I will be working on. However, I am not ruled by my job. I still like to go out and have fun, and I know when I have been putting in too many hours.

I’m really good at

Listening and offering sound advice to my friends and family.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I have a very unusual taste in music spanning pretty much every genre. A few of my favorites are King’s X, Fiona Apple, Nellie McKay, Queensryche, Cyprus Hill, Joss Stone, Ron Thal, Gretchen Wilson, Johnny Cash, Regina Spektor, Slipknot, Guthrie Govan, Dr. Hook, and Alice In Chains. I dabble a little in playing guitar, bass, and keyboard, but I could be better.

Like music, I have a broad range of favorite movies including Love Actually, Sin City, Princess Bride, Labyrinth, Happy Gilmore, The Dark Knight, Finding Nemo, Over The Hedge, Stardust, The Godfather Trilogy, and The Shawshank Redemption.

I tend to lean towards Sci-Fi/Fantasy for books. A few of my favorites are American Gods, Anansi Boys, Neverwhere, Moon Called, Cry Wolf, Hunting Ground, and Watchers.

The six things I could never do without

1. Music
2. My Family
3. My Dogs
4. Movies
5. My Guitars
6. My Computer

On a typical Friday night I am

Either at home cleaning up, or hanging out with my friends either playing guitar or catching a show somewhere.
