My family and friends are all very valuable to me, and I try to spend as much time with them as I can. My brother has four kids, who all mean the world to me -- it's great being the fun uncle who can spoil them all I want! Recently my sister and a few close friends have also had kids, so there are now four more 2-year-olds to watch grow.
I generally look at the world with both a sense of adventure and a good laugh.. I don't take many things too seriously. I'm usually the one who makes the humorous sarcastic quips with groups of friends, and the guy at the office who does the subtle prank on a coworker friend to help make the day move along a little more enjoyably. I'm also the person who shows just a bit too much over-confidence for the fun of it while also throwing out those self-depreciating jokes at my own expense.
As the career and education might tell you, I'm a huge fan of life-long learning, and I really don't think it stops at school or work. I make sure to read about all sorts of subjects whenever I can. I also think that travel is a very important way to broaden one's horizons and appreciate other cultures and places. I look opportunities to get out and explore the world whenever I can, though I also think there's so much to see in your own backyard as well. Even if you've lived in SLO for the last 8 years like me, there are always more things to discover.
