My self-summary
I love trail running, creek dipping, moon watching, storm playing, mud between the toes and raindrops on the head.

I took the Myers-Briggs personality test recently and failed it. I don't understand how, I copied most of the answers from the guy next to me and he had plenty of personality. Since I have to wait six months before I can retake it, I downloaded some personalities off the internet. I got a Barney Stinson 30 day trial that is, 'Legen', wait for it...... 'dary', and a dissociative identity disorder 6 in 1 special. Those will have to suffice until I can get Myers-Briggs certified.
What I’m doing with my life
Impromptu Rammstein dance party!!!!

Working on opening a restaurant/pub. Figuring out how I can get back to traveling, exploring, writing, discovering and indulging in the cornucopia of life.
Trying to figure out if I can live in Dublin, Ireland for part of each year.
Studying Buddhism again and trying to practice mindfulness. Right now, for example, I am typing on a computer.
I just now got back from experiencing one of my favorite sensations; I ran over two hours through the mist in the National Forest, the few people I passed full of joy and smiles and friendly greetings, there was laughter, there was beauty, there was the magical feeling that out of the mists could come anything, dreams could come true, boundaries between worlds crossed, time scrambled, long forgotten friends and lovers found. Climbing towards Rattlesnake Lodge, a black-haired beauty emerged from the mists, accompanied by a gorgeous ivory-colored dog. She was giddy from the hike and the mists and the mountains, her greeting sprang from her lips like a kitten pouncing on slippers.
I looked for her, on the way back down from Rattlesnake Lodge, but she had disappeared back into the mists.
I’m really good at
I have a particularly poor perspective from which to judge what I am good at, but I love to write, explore and discover new things. I try to take the time to watch and listen, suspending the urge to prematurely interpret through the filter of my prejudices and allow myself the opportunity to discover new things that I wasn't aware of before and things that cause me to change my mind, developing over time better understanding. I am also good at seeing both the good and bad in people and situations, treasuring the good while minimizing the bad. Except of course for my sainted grandmother who was entirely good.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have ceased to speculate on what goes on in the minds of others.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Will and Ariel Durant's The Story of Civilization, Joe Abercrombie, Jared Diamond. I just finished Crosby's The Columbian Exchange and have started Mann's 1491 and then 1493. The Dark Beyond the Stars by Frank Robinson, Memories, The Origins of Totalitarian Democracy by Talmon, Essays in Positive Economics, philosophy books on pragmatism, positivism and Zen, especially DT Suzuki. So many awesome books still to be read!

I often have impromptu Rammstein dance parties with my son.
The six things I could never do without
I have done without, but I am a huge fan of the hot shower, a comfortable bed, some place to run, something new to explore, mountains and a gurgling creek, and a beautiful woman to share adventures with.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lately, the concept of articulated knowledge and tacit knowledge, how beautiful the trail is, and the adventures I still want to experience.
Since I started reading Crosby and Mann, I've spent a lot of time thinking about the state of the Americas pre-Columbus.

Oh yeah, how I'm loving these new sideburns! Edit: I've shaved the wolverine and am now experimenting with designs. I am willing to sport logos for the right price.

Edit: Back to clean-shaven...
On a typical Friday night I am
Hared the Red Dress Run today. Wait, this is Saturday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have been wrong about just about everything at one point or another in my life. I'm just trying to get progressively less wrong.
