My self-summary
Never married mom to one terrific kid.
Non traditional and non conformist, but you might not notice that right away.
I'm too conservative for the granolas, but not conservative at all (i.e. mostly fiscally conservative, definitely morally liberal).

I used to like risk and adventure, but am more of a homebody and more sedate as of late (been there, done that.. have the broken bones to prove it). I won't say I wouldn't be up for some adventure, but company plays a big part of that.

I have chickens and various critters, someday I want to live on a farm. Really, I like non-human animals better than people.

I grew up all over the world and I've been to every continent except Antartica. England, Indonesia , Kenya and New Zealand were favorites. I like to be where it's warm. Preferably near a beach. I don't like wearing shoes and would love to wear my flip flops year round.

I am not overally optimistic about my prospects for love or long term relationships at this point in my life, but not entirely done looking or I wouldn't be doing this, would I? Mostly I'd be happy with stimulating companionship and decent sex.

I do tend to see the bad (in people, in life) and am annoyed by people who are overally pollyannaish. Cynical, for sure, and most things are shades of grey with me.

Note:
I am a serial monogamist type, so if you are into multiple partners or relationships, please don't contact me. Not saying I'm looking for marriage, just commitment on some level at some point. Unless you're Viggo Mortensen (or look a hell of a lot like him), in which case I'd be really happy with any booty call you'd care to throw my way. :)

Not taking things too seriously. I hate drama.
The first things people usually notice about me
I guess it depends on the person. I try not to stand out. I am not fond of the eyes of strangers.

Music

Life.... what makes life worth living and how to achieve those things.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home or at my kid's swim practice.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The older I get, the less I like people. I also admit to reading lots of trashy romance novels. I like contradictions.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 35–50
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating
You should message me if
You want to go out to eat vegetarian Indian food.
You want to discuss (and/or argue over) good books/philosophy over tea/coffee.
Note:
If you have never read any of the books I have listed, we probably will have nothing to say to each other, but I'd like to be proven wrong.
If you are smart and nerdy, but timid and/or passive, we might end up great friends. I am tough and aggressive; pure intellectuals are not for me romantically.

If you think Depeche Mode's "Somebody" is a pretty good indication of what you want in a relationship.
