Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm currently a Medical Technology student at a medical university
in Syracuse, New York. I've dedicated much of my life so far to my
education, and I already have a Bachelor's degree in Biology. This
doesn't mean that I'm all work all the time and can't have fun. I
tend to have a goofy sense of humor when I'm around people I know
well, and I find something funny in almost anything, even if
everyone else can't figure out why on Earth I'm laughing. Still, I
know how to be serious when I want or need to be. I love animals,
especially dogs, and my family has owned at least one for my entire
life. If I could have my own in my current apartment, I
I can tend to be a bit of a science nerd, but there's nothing wrong
with that, especially with the line of work that I hope to go into!
This site seems to think I'm more scientific, and I completely
agree with that analysis. I also tend to be very relaxed most of
the time, while simultaneously focused and determined.
I like to think that I can get along well with almost anyone, and I
hope to find some people that I get along well with here!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My current goal is to use the experience and license that I'll gain
from my Medical Technology program to eventually find a career in a
hospital laboratory. Until then, I work as a specimen receiving
technician at my university, processing medical samples before they
are sent to the real technicians who analyze them.
I also teach karate classes when I have breaks from my studies.
I've been training in the martial arts for almost fourteen years,
and teaching for about half that time. I'm currently a third degree
black belt instructor.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Possessing more random knowledge than anyone really needs to,
teaching kids to fend off bullies and learning, myself, in the
process, impressing the higher-ups, whoever they may be, and fixing
that irritating computer problem and making it look easy.
I'm also told I'm not a bad singer. I've been a member of a choir
in the past, as well as a barbershop quartet.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Physically, people notice my above-average height and my glasses,
which I'm told are pretty unique. After that, usually they notice
my sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books-mysteries and thrillers, especially anything by James
Patterson. Scientific texts have always been important in my
education, and I still find the material interesting.
Movies-science fiction movies, especially Star Wars, comedies, and
movies like Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, among many
others that are too numerous to list.
Music-I'll listen to just about anything that I think sounds good,
old or new, but my favorite genre has always been classic
Food-I love a good burger, as well as oriental cuisine, Mexican,
Italian, you name it. I'm really not too picky, although lately
I've been trying to eat healthier.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Oxygen (For oxidative phosphorylation, mostly)
My loving family and pets (Counting them as one)
A few close friends
My glasses (Basically blind without them and I don't like
My tech gadgets (Smartphone, laptop, etc.)
Humor (The world would be a dark place without it)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My future, including where I'll end up working when I'm finally
licensed as a lab tech. Also what the state of the world will be
when I'm my father's current age and the younger generations of
today have grown up and taken over.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I've been known to go out to bars on occasion, but I could also
just as easily be hanging out with family or friends or enjoying a
quiet evening at home. Since going back to school, studying has
also become a definite possibility.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not the best at meeting people under normal circumstances,
which is part of the reason why I'm here. Don't worry though, I'm
fine once I get to know you.
