I am single, once wealthy, and once wise.

My Self-Summary

I am an older. mature single male that once may have been considered Hot! Now, handsome, distinguished looking. Unfortunately, in the past I found some admirers were ladies who loved my hair! I have a good education and a blog I toying with both with humor and a serious side. I've stated in many profiles I consider myself to have a "professional type" of career experience.
I am 6' 1', 190lbs, Blue Eyes, Silver Hair, a keen sense of humor, dry wit, but sometimes a bit sarcastic. I am willing to admit and accept my flaws and mistakes and first to apologize when wrong. Life is too short to be bogged down by "small stuff." Shy by nature, I find there are times I gather my inner strength, wits and humor to a level where I can entertain and speak before most groups if they resemble humans. (LOL)! I have more info on other sites. Just ask!

What I’m doing with my life

At the moment I view myself "semi-retired" and exploring any and all avenues of interest, new careers, entertainment, writing, and looking for "new, younger friends with fresh ideas and approach to life." I want to explore current events, really listen to younger friends and hear what they think and experience. At he same time I need someone willing to listen and show some compassion when applicable.
They will also require patience as in a quality like mercy (rather than patients of a doctor or psychotherapist).
I plan to add more to this section as I have just completed a revision in a My Space place.

I’m really good at

anticipating the needs of a friend when I come close to knowing them. I like to please people in this way in order for them to be relaxed, feel comfortable and allow themselves freedom to be themselves.
There are some other skills I believe I am adept in [writing] (most times) and those kinds of more intellectual pursuits and interests.
I prefer meeting men who have University degrees or pursuing one or an advanced degree. I started as a teacher, could not find a job at that time, but fortunately my employer (State of MI) finally recognized some expertise in the area and I was recruited (forced is more appropriate) into participating in a on again off again training program that turns out to be the best days spent on the job.
I am a total novice in most other areas involving tools, painting, sports and the like. I am more of a Klutz, but a determined one if it is competitive.

The first things people usually notice about me

I need more time to ponder this question! I really should ask?
Self-Edit of 10/27/09: I really have had enough time to answer this question before now. I confess I was avoiding it. The thing that most people usually notice about me is first how Tall I am, what age is he from and what the hell is he doing here?

Now one thing that does enter my mind is that for important and not so important Work meetings and other events, I almost always arrived "fashionably late." lol

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A wide-variety of interests in books (bios a favorite), suspense, dramatic cinema, Independent [Films], Foreign and any that are not made for the big blockbuster crowd. There are exceptions.
I love all types of [cooking and food.] Right now two of my favorites are Italian and Middle Eastern.
I am said to be a great cook, but out of practice I believe.

The six things I could never do without

1. Wake up in the morning everyday.
2. Coffee
3. PC and the Internet
4. Sex or thinking about it.
5. Music
6. Film

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How others less fortunate are coping in their lives, how grateful I need to remind myself of what I do have and looking to [find the right person] to really go out with a bang, to make even a small impact on someone's life for the better!
And as of October 27th I might add that the above may have some truth to it but it is so syrupy that my fingers are sticking to the keyboard.
I find myself thinking too much about the future and how time is growing short for me.

On a typical Friday night I am

Attempting to catch up on everything I started at the beginning of the week or at this writing, trying to finish this up when I now run three hours behind my schedule of things to do. I can run anywhere from two hours to two months behind. Really. You can check my calendars.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have kept my private life, private all of my life. Well, until recently. If I can find some common thread or connect, I can open up and you may find yourself amazed.

You should message me if

you are alive and breathing, serious about your question or thought, not just for amusement at say my expense. But, sure message anytime. It cannot possibly hurt, so do not hesitate! Believe me, if you hesitate and do not take the chance or risk, you may later regard it to be one of your biggest regrets.
