My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I don't go kayaking.

Just wanted to get that out of the way because - judging by the pictures - that seems to be the primary form of transportation for many here.

I'm kind of a geek. I'm interested in science. I tinker with electronics and program computers and play video games. I'd like to think I don't fit the stereotype of the awkward weirdo, though; I get along well with a lot of different kinds of people. I also play in a couple of bands and am into many genres of music.

I spend a good amount of time by myself, which is important to me, but I'd like to meet someone who would drag me out of the house occasionally to do something fun. I'm interested in seeking out new experiences and trying new things, so I'm up for almost anything at least once.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I write software that goes into musical instruments (keyboards specifically). It's a fun job that I enjoy a great deal. When I'm not working, I'm frequently getting involved in new avocations that don't go anywhere; the latest is woodworking.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I think it's been shown that people are terrible at accurately assessing what they're good at. I believe I'm really good at a few things, but you'd have to judge that for yourself.

A more interesting topic would be "I'm really bad at." I could write a book about that.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

I look at things from many angles and can sometimes overthink stuff. Someone suggested that I put that in my profile, like that would be an important aspect of compatibility/incompatibility.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I might be out doing something, dinner with friends, going to see some live music or playing with my own band. Usually home though.
