My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey there, random stranger! I'm Dave. I'm on here looking to make some new friends.

I'm a software developer and musician who likes to laugh, eat, harmonise, draw, listen, empathise, play with words, make people smile, film, edit, watch, think, encourage, be honest, be kind and be optimistic.

Because I am young at heart (and I'm told, young at face too :-), I tend to mainly hang out with younger people but I'm happy to talk to anyone. Except that guy! That guy is the worst! *points elsewhere*

So say hello, whether you're shy or outgoing. As long as you are a good person, I'd like to hear from you :-)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
During the week, I make serious game software. Outside of work, I write and record music, play guitar in a band, do a bit of video production, and have a couple of start-up projects boiling away during whatever scarce time remains.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people feel at ease. Empathising. Playing music by ear. Word play. Forgetting things. Giving massages. Getting lost. Hugs. Self-deprecation. Making dorky jokes. Fighting off the urge to be humble when the dating site is specifically requesting a brag fest.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My exceptionally handsome elbows. Just kidding; my elbows are actually quite conventional.

More accurately, people generally first notice that I am kind and considerate.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I like reading authors that are as clever with their word craft as they are with their stories (Douglas Adams, Neil Gaiman, Charles Dickens, Steve Martin). As well as fantasy, science fiction and Harry Potter books.

Movies: I like films that explore the surreal or bizarre (Mulholland Drive, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Donnie Darko, Being John Malkovich, A Clockwork Orange). But I also like fantasy movies, sci-fi, trashy apocalyptic action films, superhero flicks, Disney movies and Harry Potter films.

Television: Arrested Development, Six Feet Under, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, SNL, HIMYM, Skins, Misfits, Game of Thrones, The Office, Little Britain, Red Dwarf, Catherine Tate and also lots of oldies... Friends, Seinfeld, The Golden Girls to name a few. That said, I probably only watch an hour or two of TV a week on average.

Music: I listen to everything - classical, electro pop, top 40, hip hop, rock, progressive metal, and everything in between. If it has an interesting melody, beat, time signature or chord progression, then I will probably like it :-) For the record, my favourite band is Muse.

Shows: The Mikado, Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon, The Producers, Les Mis, The Lion King.

Video games: Zelda. Fable. Journey.
Board games: Some of the nerdy ones :-)

Food: Apart from creepy-crawly underwater creatures, I love pretty much all food, and to me good food is one of life's greatest joys. I prefer savoury to sweet, steak to fish, and cheese & crackers to, well, everything.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Sense of Humour
Counting Ability
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future. How things work. What makes different people tick. Also, my next meal.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Having dinner with friends, out at a movie, or working on something creative.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well if I wrote it on here then it wouldn't be private, now would it :-) Ask me over a drink instead.
