My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Open minded, easy going, but not "easy", respectful to others and myself. Fun loving, easy going, but serious when needed. I try to stay balanced.

I've been in California for about two years now, and dating here is rough. It seems we all want that connection, all are stumbling around on the same path with the same general ideals, (I'm speaking in a broad general way here, relax a little) but none of us can ever really seem to find the one to take a real chance on. I've met Some women from this site, some just want a night out and its cool, some want a night and breakfast, well that's cool too. Some want to go from "hello" to "I do" in less than .25 seconds. So I'm assuming, you are probably asking right about now "Dude, what do you want?" Well, at the risk of sounding generic, and damn I really hope I don't, I want a friend. Woa, wait a minute cowboy, that's what everyone wants! Ok, so yea, it was generic. So allow me to elaborate. I'm looking for a woman who isn't afraid to be herself, to laugh at life and not take it too seriously. I'm looking for someone who can playfully call me on my bullshit, and laugh at myself with over it. I'm looking for a woman who isn't afraid to get silly, and still have that teenage fun. Remember that? Nerf gun fight anyone? Sword fight in a store while wearing eye patches and talking in bad accents? I bet you though i was going to say pirates didn't you? Someone who we only have to be grown ups with some of the time.

We all have a past, and yes I'm sure there are some moments we would all like to forget about, I don't let my past dictate my future, I choose my own path and walk it with a smile, and some times I skip down the path as well. I'm not perfect, i have my flaws and i expect you to as well. I think our flaws help define who we are. Whats the point of good without the bad? would we even know the difference?

I love to cook, I'm a single guy who lives alone, so that means it's either eating out all the time or cooking for myself. I would love to cook for someone else besides me. I think my food is great. But i am far from a chef. just a guy with a kitchen and an imagination. Anyone feeling adventurous?

Anyone else willing to take a chance on the unknown? or are we all just window shopping?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm sure this is a question many of us have asked ourselves quite a few times. I am, I hope, a great dad to a little girl that lives in Philadelphia. Well the best dad i can be from 3,000 miles away at least. I travel back and forth quite a bit and have a great friendship with her mom no drama there. Currently I am active Army, i'm stationed on Camp Pendleton, Yes, there are Soldiers there as well.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being a dad, cooking, being a Soldier, listening, fixing mechanical things, finding solutions to life's situations ( I don't believe in problems. cant handle them, but I can handle situations) staying realistically positive, even under the worse conditions.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Not sure here, my eyes? my lack of hair? maybe you can tell me if we ever meet.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Ahhh books, the great love of my life, where would I be today without you? I will read just about anything. Yes, even tech manuals. BUT, given a choice, I would choose sci-fi / fantasy over most genres. I would say my favorite writers are William Gibson, Joe Ambercrombie, Poppy Z Brite, ( I know she isn't sci-fi ), Harry Turtledove, I'm not sure if George RR Martin belongs in my favorites list, but I do enjoy his books. Much respect for Tolkien. Anthony Burgess, Robert A. Heinlein, the list goes on and on.

Movies- pretty much the same rule applies. No, I don't mind reading my movie.

Music- Another great love and very diverse. everything from today's pop type stuff to 70's folk rock, techno- industrial, alternative, dance, even though I dance like a drunken one legged white guy with two left feet, honestly,I can listen to just about anything.

Food- well, I will eat anything except coleslaw, and liver. As far as my favorite foods go, I love spicy noodle soups, anything with some heat to it. Italian, Sushi, Mediterranean, and the good old american BBQ Bacon Cheddar Cheese burger. Don't judge!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My daughter - My entire reason for doing what i do.
Coffee - The darker the roast the better
Beer - No, I don't always drink, but I can enjoy a crafted beer and be happy with just one. Honestly, who is happy with just one beer? I better make that two!
Exercise - I need LOTS more and more often
Love - Be it friends, family, lovers, it makes the world go round and brings hope for a better tomorrow.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whether on not Han really shot first or if it was all just propaganda

Usually home, unless I am out, then I'm not home. But Seriously, Generally I'm home. Rock'in it solo is only so much fun.
