Something that I've enjoyed about getting older is awareness of the anomalousness of any given life in the face of the many one could have had. This means that who I am is more a product of coincidence and experience than the heritage of biology or familial circumstance. So far I've been fortunate in having a great diversity of interesting chapters in my life that have helped me to become this specific person. I'm doing my best to continue my streak.
I work as an engineer for a consumer hardware company where I help design statistical and signal processing algorithms. I'm also on the research staff at a Stanford grad school, where I sometimes do mathy things but more often get involved with various forms of psychology.
