My self-summary
In 2009, I decided I could no longer tolerate or settle for discontent, so I quit my unrewarding job and spent the next year traveling overseas. It was the most profoundly positive experience of my life. I've seen and done things I never would have imagined doing before I left, and I consider myself a better person for it.

The infinite possibilities each day holds should stagger the mind. The sheer number of experiences I could have is uncountable and breathtaking. As such I try to make the most of every moment of every day. I am spontaneous, opportunistic, and some might say completely random, sometimes speaking and acting without rhyme or reason. I probably come off as capricious and mercurial, but it's only because I'm fascinated by the totality of human experience. I'm the kind of person who doesn't count time by hands on a dial but rather by heartbeats. In the words of Jim Morrison, "No eternal reward will save you from wasting the dawn."

tl;dr - I did a bunch of traveling and now I pursue every opportunity I can manage in an effort to make the most of my finite existence on this planet.

My interests include beer, science, couchsurfing, most outdoor activities (cycling, rock climbing, backpacking/hiking/camping, etc.), music, live shows, anything social, DIY antics, absurd humor, webcomics, trivia, anything that gives me the opportunity to wear a costume (Halloween, Comic-con), and urban exploration. If anyone knows how to get into the abandoned City Hall station or the top of the Washington Arch, I'd be much obliged.

I am in your computer, stealing your ID, and credit card numbers
This is too bad. I was fond of the "3 adjectives" feature.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm in graduate school for biomedical engineering. I'm also doing stem cell research in a lab at my school. Pretty rad stuff.

I'm putting together a team of trivia specialists. Send me a message if you're interested.
I’m really good at
daydreaming, zoning out and retreating into my imagination, whatever you would call it
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm tall. 6'4" to be exact. I'm always told I have a firm handshake.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
I like reading, but I'm pretty bad at it. I could build a yurt out of my stack of unread books and live inside it. Generally, I like anything that I can learn or take something from, be it fiction or non-fiction. Favorite books include 1984, Catch-22, Brave New World (what is it about dystopian futures?), and anything written by Carl Sagan. I also read many comic books and graphic novels, The Watchmen being my favorite among them.

Movies:
I really like movies and I try to watch as many as I can. If I had to pick a favorite I'd say anything by Kubrick. TV is good, particularly Lost, Chuck, Community, Parks and Recreation, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Futurama, and Fringe.

Music:
I like almost every kind of music, but mostly punk (Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Bad Brains, Misfits, Stiff Little Fingers, Bad Religion), metal (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Metallica), anything that ends in "-billy" (Creepshow, Tiger Army), some indie (Broken Social Scene, Metric, TV on the Radio, Arcade Fire), and classic rock (Beatles, Zeppelin, Floyd). I also like lots of that ambient/ethereal music like Sigur Ros, Godspeed, Explosions in the Sky, Eluvium, etc.

Food:
I'll eat anything, but I'm partial to asian cuisines such as Indian, Thai, and Japanese. And nothing beats a great cheeseburger.
The six things I could never do without
1. air
2. water
3. food
4. functioning limbs
5. gravity
6. my boundless wanderlust and insatiable curiosity?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- the next foreign land I'll visit
- time travel
- how to grow body parts
- the ultimate fate of humanity: will we prosper or decay?
On a typical Friday night I am
pursuing whatever fortuitous venture piques my interest on that particular night. This includes getting drinks, going to shows and screenings, finding ways to summit tall buildings and structures, or just stomping around the city like I own the place.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have the power to be invisible, but it only works on bartenders.

You should message me if
I'm surprised you've made it this far since you probably get 10 messages a day, BUT if you happen to be reading this, and you're a nerdy girl with rock n roll swagger who doesn't end every sentence in an upward inflection as if you're asking a question(?), drop me a line.
