My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
TL;DR: I'm intelligent, nerdy, funny, caring, open-minded, a little shy and also a little weird, looking to meet syndrome who's at least some of that.

The long version, in the form of random facts or stories:

I've been skydiving, hang gliding and bungee jumping, and would love to go again

A friend who shared my views on Christianity (see below) was told by Jehovah's witnesses that she was "beyond jesus's help". I consider this a personal achievement, and also wish they told me that directly .

I love comedy, laughing and making other people laugh. Great comedians like George Carlin probably had a larger influence over who I am than most of the people I actually know and, like him, I have a really irreverent sense of humor.

I finished my last computer-based test early and tried to find Solitaire before time ran out. The proctors were not amused.

I know how to play instruments, in that I played the alto sax for awhile and if you count hitting the steering wheel of my car to whatever music is playing, I can also play drums.

Most of what my degree amounts to right now is me answering other people's health questions or finding excuses to say "Trust me, I'm The Doctor" in a bad British accent. And I'm totally fine with that.

I enjoy getting out of my comfort zone and am up for trying anything at least once. That said, I hate clubbing. I also suck at dancing, but that doesn't really stop me.

During an interview I was asked "What can you bring to the program?" After giving the usual bullshit I said "Also I'm a homebrewer so a lot of free beer!" They cracked up, but I didn't get that job.

I have a very low tolerance for bullshit and find social rules, games and any of that stuff to be incredibly annoying. I am usually direct and prefer others to do the same, even if they have potentially bad things to say. Saves a lot of time and energy, and just seems more considerate.

And because almost every OK Cupid profile has an obligatory "I love being outdoors" part....takes deep breath....I like travel, hiking, camping, fishing, swimming, waterskiing, scuba, biking, frisbee, the park on a nice day, etc...
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have an MD and a Chemical Engineering degree, and now I'm alternating between lab work, doctor work and medical writing while trying to get better jobs in any of these.

That and figuring out how to achieve my goals which involve traveling the world, opening a brewery, getting a pilot license, seeing the Northern Lights, running the NYC Marathon (will probably happen in November), getting a Triforce of Courage tattoo on my left hand, seeing the stars somewhere with no light pollution, etc.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making jokes, all things science, brewing/enjoying beer, roasting/making coffee, all things tech, quoting things, pirating things, running, baking, mixing drinks, and probably other things. I've been told I make great coffee, great beer and "The best Belgian waffles I've ever had"

Also I'm surprisingly good with a shotgun, though I've only ever been to shooting ranges twice.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Glasses, deep voice and the fact that I'm probably staring into the sky at any given moment

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How ridiculously huge the universe is, and how ridiculously small cells/molecules/atoms are. It's mind boggling and amazing how most of existence on any level is really just empty space.

Would it be overly crazy to move somewhere completely at random and start over? Like, throw a dart at a map of the US? If it's not too crazy, how would I pull it off? Probably start by buying a map and some darts.

Why are people so into religion? To me, it's like being married to an abusive partner. "Oh I'm so flawed, only god can help me. I feel so blessed to have the lord love me. He only punishes me cause he loves me..."

Random Simpsons quotes from the good episodes.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At a bar/meetup, doing work, hanging with friends, studying, video games, Netflix/southparkstudios/
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not that private and will probably admit to most things, even if I'm meeting you for the first time. That said, here are a few random facts:

I once got second degree burns from a flaming marshmallow.
I own a collection of random kitchen gadgets, despite the fact that I rarely cook.
I thought Taylor Swift was catchy for awhile. I'm more embarrassed by this than the other ones.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I'm all for meeting new people (preferably talking for awhile first) no matter what comes of it, so just message me if you feel like it/think we would get along. Otherwise, here are a few suggestions:

I messaged you first
You want to brew beer, drink home roasted coffee, go out for great food, do something fun, or go running. Or all of the above. Preferably all of the above
You aren't put off by the fact that I will likely wear a t-shirt and cargo shorts to a first date
You can name the very sexy learning disability I suffer from (think Futurama)
