My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love animals (well mammals mostly and cats especially) and am thinking about ways of incorporating more of them in my life, have a good/broad sense of humor and know an amazing catalog of nearly useless trivia (the keyword being nearly). I can hold up my end of a conversation rather well if I do say so myself and I can help with computer problems, and recommend movies and scifi/fantasy books with the best of ‘em. Oh yeah, and I really like going to festivals/geeky conventions and want to do a lot more traveling. I tend to keep up with world affairs, politics, economics, etc.. and find it interesting.

Also, I'm not a fan of short term relationships, and that's not what I'm looking for here. What I am looking for is someone who is caring, understanding and has time or makes time to spend with someone special. Honesty is important to me and I appreciate a high level of self awareness in a person. Mind you, no one is flawless and I'm mature enough to embrace the quirks in a person.

I want to share my life with someone. Sorry to get all heavy, but I think this matters enough to be stated plainly.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to find the best way to live my life with integrity AND enjoyment. Trying to overcome any internal hitches I find along the way. I know this is vague, but I'm not gonna go into a dissertation on it here. Leaves a little mystery ya know? :)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
listening to people and understanding where they are coming from. At work, I often end up translating between technical concerns/people and non-technical people. I'm also really good at working with computers, we seem to be on the same wave length often.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not sure, maybe a Cheshire cat like grin I get from time to time. I've been told it's my blue eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: don't really keep track.. I like scifi mostly, especially with a detailed setting, likable well rounded characters and an interesting plot I can't figure out until the end
Movies: so many.. silly comedies like "Young Frankenstein" or "Kung Pow Enter the Fist" or MST3K, horror with a scifi twist like Pandorum or The Cabin in the Woods, Rock musicals like Shock Treatment or Rock and Rule, Foreign movies like Juan of the Dead or Funky Forest, I can go on. In the past year, of the big movies, I liked Elysium, The Croods, and Oblivion.
Music: I tend to be attracted to music with interesting lyrics, usually backed up by some kind of rock or pop. I also like passion in my singers. And often you can hear me listening to comedy/parody songs mixed in to my playlist.
Food: This is a toughie. I have lots of rules about the food that I eat, mostly for health reasons. Still Skydottir cookies are up there. I love nectarine's and peaches, Synergy Third Eye Chai.. Olivia's Superfree Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cupcakes. OK I realize that doesn't sound all that healthy but moderation is key :)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Air, water, food, shelter (unless I'm in a place with REALLY nice weather).. let's see that's four.. OK the internet and a way to access it, to keep me from getting bored. And well, someone to talk to. I could get that on the internet, but it's not the same.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
World affairs, the nature of man and society. The future of this country and sometimes all the way up to the species. And I guess, what is the best path for me in it. Oh and where can I find more things to enjoy.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Slinking out of work disturbingly late, trying to decide if I want to do something or rest up for Saturday. Start making all kinds of wild plans for Saturday that are fairly unrealistic :) Trying to let the whole no work tomorrow thing sink in.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think some of my answers to the questions are private enough... Check'em out, there's some winners in there :)

Um.. you have a pulse?? Electronic will do :) I think this has been covered in about 8 different ways above, but here are some things I may have left out: if you have an appreciation for fantasy(scifi) in books and movies, if world affairs and the future on a grand scale interests you, if you don't think long term monogamous relationships are passé, if you think living in another country might not be such a bad idea after reading up on current affairs.

Thinking about this topic, I wonder, do many women ever message men on here? Well I can tell you I will always respond (eventually) and unless you insult my lineage, I'll even be polite about it. :)
