I am hilarious, quick-witted, and addictive.

My Self-Summary

I love riding my bicycle around town, hanging out at coffee shops, being caffeinated. I study hard and log long hours at the library, but I also like spending an entire Saturday downtown on my bicycle with a good friend, exploring the corners of the city and sharing a good conversation.

I'm especially fascinated by foreign languages and cultures. I'm bilingual in Spanish and English, and dabble in Portuguese and Farsi. I like Latin American cinema, politics, history, and ICE CREAM.
I am a woman of contradictions and because of that would consider myself well-rounded. I studied physiology for some-odd years and still maintain an interest in nutrition, anatomy and kinesiology. One of my guilty pleasures is a good sudoku puzzle, and I love taking math classes even if I don't need the credits.
I also don't think art and science are very different. There is certainly beauty in science, and science can just as easily be applied to literature and other creative endeavors.
My passions change frequently, but right now I love Spanish literature, and it consumes a large part of m life.
I dance occasionally, write poems, finger paint and tell jokes, as well as play a never-ending game of "Would You Rather?" with anyone who is willing.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a left-handed liberal student in her last year (for now) of school. I go to U of A and study Spanish Literature and ESL teaching. After next September, I'll be in some currently undecided Latin American country working as an English professor like I did last year in Chile, where I lived for 13 months.

I have an insatiable desire to travel, a passion for languages, and an innate ability for teaching.

I’m really good at

1.Teaching
2. language-acquisition
3.having adventures
4. making good vegetarian food
5. riding my bike
6. putting on crazy zombie make-up
7. hopscotch and sudoku
8. being in charge/the leader. Follow me! I'll take you somewhere new.

The first things people usually notice about me

My ridiculous sense of humor. It's a hybrid version of obscene, vulgar, morbid, sarcastic and witty.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Many, but a few are the following:
Cien anos de Soledad. Jane Eyre. Grapes of Wrath. The Stranger. Siddhartha. Residencia en la tierra. The Bean Trees.

Music: Calle 13, Gogol Bordello, Cafe Tacuba, Rasputina, The White Stripes, Grand Ole Party, The Gossip, Brand of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Metric.

The six things I could never do without

my family, pillows, paper and pencil, books, my BFFL, big backpacks.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

feminism, travel, Spanish grammar, writing poetry in margins, bicycle maintenance, painting with my fingers, researching my senior thesis project, Chilean history.

On a typical Friday night I am

Grabbing a quick drink with my girls on fourth ave.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have a second belly button.
