My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
None of us really know what we're doing. But that makes doing worthwhile things (whatever that means to you) with life more important, not less.

I think a lot, and I speak what I think. I don't mince words.

I can shake my ass at a concert.

I won't judge you based on your bookshelf, but I'm partial to readers.

Walt Whitman

A Clockwork Orange (book), Emerson and all the transcendentalists, political and social and educational theory (Butler, Foucault, Freire), philosophy (I have a nerdy obsession with social contract theory and philosophy of mind), anti-neoliberalism, Ginsberg, young adult fiction, anything post apocalypse.

Harold and Maude, sci fi shit, zombies, sometimes trashy reality tv hits the spot, horror movies (both good and bad), funny action, feel-good movies, quirky movies, and shows driven as much by character as by plot (Game of Thrones, Oz, Breaking Bad... you get the picture).

The Roots, Radiohead, Talib Kweli, Atmosphere, Modest Mouse, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, RJD2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Darondo, Bon Iver, Jose Gonzales, Hot Chip, Justice, TV on the Radio, Curtis Mayfield, Nina Simone, Steve Miller Band, and many, many others.

fresh fruit, green chile (spicy food is my favorite food), grandma's spaghetti and meatballs, ceviche, sushi, ramen (the real kind), oysters, watercress, arugula, basil, tomatoes, cheese, crackers, soul food, street food, holiday food, and most other foods from anywhere. all the vegetables. some of the meats, but they're expendable.

i hate watermelon. watermelon is my food nemesis. I enjoyed eating fried scorpions, but I just can't do watermelon.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My special kitchen knife, adventurous eating, books, pajamas, and a healthy mix of social interaction and "me time." Spontaneity. My kitties. Breaking arbitrary rules like how many things to include in a list.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Education. The head spinning thoughts that many try to avoid. If you know the ones, message me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out at home watching some movies and taking it easy, perhaps with some beer or wine, definitely with some herb. I'm usually pretty wiped out on Fridays from a full week of teaching! I like my lazy Friday nights.

I usually go out on Saturdays, sometimes during the day for a fun adventure (sailing or tracking down some good new restaurant or other spontaneous happenings) and sometimes at night for a fun adventure (going to a party or seeing a movie or going to a bar). The fun adventure part is the key.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
In high school I cheated on a physics test. About 15 minutes later I went and told my teacher because I was freaking out and felt really bad about it. Now I'm a science teacher. My conscience is powerful.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You like learning, adventure, and playing card games; have an affinity for animal companions; enjoy the outdoors (hardcore camping included); and know how to keep it real without taking it too seriously. We're all just floating on a rock, but we're doing it together.
