My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Matt. I'm a scientist. I like to solve things. I like knowing how things work. I love to sing. I'm not so big on dancing. I read Wikipedia for fun. I think working out is fun. I'll try almost anything once. I read like it's going out of style.

I am confident, ambitious, and clever
What I’m doing with my life

software. I've been doing it since I was a kid and I love it. Also, debate and problem solving.

-- Books
I love to read. I honestly can't remember the last time I wasn't reading at least one book. Some new and old favorites:

* The Time Traveler's Wife
* Life of Pi
* Kafka On The Shore
* The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay
* Foundation Series
* Dark Tower Series (well, the first 4)
* American Gods
* The Earthsea Series
* The Count of Monte Cristo.

-- Movies
I like thinking movies. Also, weird ones. I like watching characters develop. I think 2012 is hilariously, horribly brilliant. Again, some new and old favorites:

* Primer
* Donnie Darko
* The Way of the Gun
* Lost In Translation
* American Beauty
* Garden State
* Cashback
* Dark Knight
* Gladiator

-- Music
I tend to go through phases with my music, depending on the weather. Summer is fast, winter is slow. I like a lot of music, but I don't love very many bands. I'll listen to Pandora for hours in the hopes of finding a new band to love. If you're a music snob, I will confuse you by liking hip indie bands as well as 3 Doors Down.

Old favorites
* Live - Throwing Copper
* The Matthew Good Band - Beautiful Midnight
* Toad The Wet Sprocket - Coil
* Philip Glass - Solo Piano
* 3 Doors Down - The Better Life

New Favorites
* Florence + The Machine - Lungs
* The Protomen - The Protomen
* The Decemberists - The Hazards of Love
* Acroma - Orbitals
* The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Don't You Fake It

-- Food
I'm a big fan of both eating and cooking. I'm excellent at eating and moderately good at cooking. Favorite food types:

* Mexican (try Red Habanero on the NW side for a great burrito)
* Steak
* Sushi

I vastly prefer eating at local restaurants over chains. My favorite restaurant in Indy was El Morocco, but it seems to have closed while I was away. I guess it's time to start looking for a replacement.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Philosophy. Happiness. How to permanently fix a problem so I never have to worry about it again for as long as I live.
On a typical Friday night I am

hanging out with my friends, usually at one of our houses...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
and we're probably playing Dungeons and Dragons. Terrifying, right? I started writing a paragraph defending DnD, but let's face the facts: if that statement scared you off, there's probably no use fixing it. That's just the tip of the nerdy iceberg.
